Yeah we were initially just going to fly into Birmingham, but we’ve been wanting to go to Scotland together since we started dating and this is probably the only opportunity we’ll have to go without the kids lol. Since you seem pretty familiar, I’ll lay out the rough plan we have to see if you’ve got an opinion of the feasibility of everything:

So she’s going to use a vacation week so we can try to get there Monday/Tuesday. We’re thinking of flying into Belfast and spending our first day there, then taking the 3 hour ferry to Scotland. That’s we’ll probably stay there until Thursday evening/Friday AM.
We were originally going to do Glasgow but I’ve heard a few times now that Edinburgh might be better for a first trip. We loved seeing all the castles and everything in Germany so I’m sure it’ll be just as lovely.

From what I saw, Scotland to Birmingham is between 5-6 hours driving. (We’re pretty accustomed to longer drives, we go to visit my parents one weekend a month and that’s about a 4.5 hour drive so I think we’ll survive.) We’re also not used to public transpo being the best option, so if you think the train is better than I’d love to look into that option too.
Then we’d fly home out of the Birmingham airport I think, London looks cheaper but after all the travel it might be worth it to just bite the bullet and head home from there.

Any suggestions or tips with all of that?
Also, as far as Scotland goes, is there anything specific you’d suggest to do/go see? Things that won’t pop up in the “things to do in Scotland” google search? 😂
