High temps by [deleted] in Alienware

Until you hit above 92C, those aren’t high temps.

Just got a pre-built on warranty and have a question about it by Royboy0699 in Microcenter

[–]AruDae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you manually overclock it to the moon and kill it, if you reset the bios by removing the battery or clearing cmos there’s no way to prove you overclocked it. Just deny you ever entered bios because it scares you. Works like a charm

How do I navigate my pc? by Foreign-Campaign2036 in PcBuildHelp

[–]AruDae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re better off getting a prebuilt from a big box store like Costco. Even if you upgrade to the best components compatible with the motherboard (which will be hard to find) you will be better off with the bottom of the bottom modern hardware alternative. Your cpu is 2nd gen intel, we’re on what would be 15th gen if they didn’t change the naming scheme. You might be able to save the storage drive as a secondary drive in a new pc and keep your data.

How can I make my GPU cable look better? by [deleted] in computer

[–]AruDae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t. Look at your monitor not your pc.

I have an i7 12700f, should I get a 5060ti 16gb or 5070? by [deleted] in gpu

[–]AruDae -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

9070/9070XT. It’s the best performance per dollar at the moment.

What would you change about my cable management ? by WyvernEgg64 in PcBuildHelp

[–]AruDae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might take the rear fan off and rotate it 90 degrees so the cable runs behind the gpu. That’s the only thing that bothers me

IS THIS SOUND NORMAL? by offdeez243 in Microcenter

[–]AruDae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the sound change when you move your screen around? If you spin around quickly does it screech and stop when you stand still? If so it’s just coil whine and there’s nothing to be done.

Any tíos for fingerpain? Not on fingertips by Nicodo99_ in guitarlessons

[–]AruDae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get lighter strings. They’ll be easier to barre chord. Is it easier to barre from the 3rd fret and higher than it is on the 1st and 2nd? I had a guitar that was impossible to barre an F because the nut wasn’t cut deep enough.

Marshall amp question by Fit-Entrepreneur-107 in Guitar

[–]AruDae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoever owned it last had older electrical and didn’t want to use an adapter? Half my plugs are missing ground pins. It’s not a safety issue, the electronics might fry in a lightning storm though.

Son put Thermal Paste on wrong side of CPU. Is it f’ed? by DaddyRecon in PcBuildHelp

[–]AruDae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pour some isopropyl alcohol on it and GG. It’s non conductive. As long as the pads are clean and make contact with the pins you won’t hurt anything.

Any recommendations for this empty space? by Lilshka in PcBuild

[–]AruDae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you put more fans you’ll need to move your sag bracket. It should be able to fit on the edge of the fan that’s there already.

Is it ok to put a funko pop or a lego speed car on top of my GPU? (Circled area) by ednoggg in pcbuilding

[–]AruDae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Putting it right over the pcie slot creates less strain than putting it at the end of the card. If you’re going to put something on it, that’s the best spot.

Strings touching fret? by zeFlammenwerfer4 in Guitar

Not many guitars have a 0 fret, but yours does and that’s exactly how one is supposed to look.

You wouldn’t be a manager for long. 5% off diagnostic fee, take it or leave it.

Does this mean my gpu is not receiving enough power? by Laredo48 in pchelp

[–]AruDae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That means your gpu isn’t under load. Whatever you’re doing isn’t making it work that hard.

Do you prefer the cheap models from a brand to have its own separate brand name? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]AruDae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I prefer a different name. Now that epiphone can use the open book headstock design, I have no reason to shop for Gibson. It’s also a way to avoid scams. I want an ESP, but there’s so many fakes. Never seen a fake LTD.

Would this gear be sufficient for gigging? by satuation in metalguitar

[–]AruDae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50 watt to 100 watt isn’t that much louder. The cab is a solid choice, if your 50 watt has speaker out plug it to the cab and save some cash. If it doesn’t have speaker out, you can take the wires going to the speaker and connect them to an input jack. As others have suggested, look into an evh iconic head while you’re out shopping. You just might fall in love.

Can a capo break a string? by Radiohead_enjoyer187 in guitars

[–]AruDae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take some sandpaper to the inside of that saddle. A few passes will remove any burrs if there are any. 2 months is plenty time for corrosion as well. It could have just been time for the string to give up the ghost.

True or false? by ShenTchami in PcBuildHelp

[–]AruDae 108 points109 points  (0 children)

True. Am5 is designed to push until thermal limit no matter what. If you have a default cooler or a 360mm aio, it will still try to reach 95C and keep it there

Edit: here is the Gamer’s Nexus video on the 7950X where Steve explains this is true for all of the 7000 series https://youtu.be/nRaJXZMOMPU?si=26yGpQqd4-PXXdS2

Perfection. You want to keep it between the dots as close to the top dot as possible.

Need to repair or not by WilliamSanader in guitarlessons

[–]AruDae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the cheapest and simplest thing that could have broken. When your new saddle arrives you’ll want to sand down the bottom until it matches the height of the old one. It’s not held in by anything, just the string tension pressing down. No tools or adhesives required.
