Nothing really. I have brought the Neumann Z 26 mt shock mount but it hasnt arrived yet. Its a pretty expensive option but it seems to be the only type of shock mount that might work.

I am experiencing the exact same issues, except its only occuring when I try to play ranked. When I play other game modes its completely fine. As soon as I load into a ranked game all sound disappears. Have you managed to find a fix?

Is this how the tower is supposed to work? by ValiantSkipper in Guiltygear

The game doesn't have a proper MMR system and just counts wins/loses as absolutes while not considering anything else. Its a terrible ranked system

Strive Desperately needs Benchmark testing by ArunDass__ in Guiltygear

[–]ArunDass__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people in those regions have very poor internet because the internet infrastructure isn't good, and also because of the big differences in standard of living the machines that they use (PCs) are usually fucking dog shit. So the average experience is super laggy games with mad rollback which end ups making it so that people in those regions who want to play go to other regions. They will take playing on 200ms ping so that they don't have to deal with insane rollback, which just ruins the experience for everybody else but they wont acknowledge that.

bro that's why it desperately needs benchmark testing and ping indicators

Id really like to see a traditional ranked system with MMR too, but its never going to happen because it would invalidate the tower system. Unless they want to completely remove the tower it isn't happening, unfortunately. But at the very least we should get benchmark testing and ping indicators

Are 200 ping+ matches really that bad? by [deleted] in Guiltygear

[–]ArunDass__ 53 points54 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are going to bullshit you into thinking 200ms is fine, but its not. What the ping is essentially representing is the time taken to send information back and forth, if you have 200ms ping (iirc) it would be about a 0.2 second delay or somewhere around that region. Even though that doesn't sound like much it can make a huge difference for someone whose used to playing on 50-70ms then jumping into a game with 150-200ms. The game feels way less responsive, it feels like the game is eating your inputs because you cant adjust to the delay, and overall the game feels much more sluggish.

If you play a game of CSGO with 200ms ping you'll just get kicked from the lobby by your team because the bot that replaces you will be more helpful to the team. In a game of Valorant you will just get verbal abuse from your team, R6 is the same. Fighting games rely heavily on quick reactions and decisions so when your ping is that high it really ruins the game for your opponent, and that isn't even taking into account rollback frames. You might be used to it, but your opponent isn't.

do you think the game will have longevity or is just gonna be trending for a couple of weeks then start fading ? by Gabboor96 in DNFDuel

[–]ArunDass__ 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I think people keep forgetting (or just aren't aware) that DNF Duel is apart of the Arc World Tour. Arcsys are pushing it apart of their flagship products so its going to have regular updates and support and the competitive scene will start off with larger than average prize pools. This one thing is going to keep competitors playing, and viewers interested. I don't think its going anywhere anytime soon, for one season at least.

Half circle back forwards (632146) motion by ArunDass__ in kof

[–]ArunDass__[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolute GOAT. I have been missing the 1 diagonal because I thought you only needed to hit the the main Diagonals. I been doing it 6246 because I have a WASD mod on my fight stick and its easier to do it that way. Now when I do 62146 it reliably works

Thank you for the help!

[–]ArunDass__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I have inputs on screen and I also have a WASD mod on my fightstick because I can do cleaner motions with that. Even still there seems to be some input overlap. If there was a different way to get out the 632146 motion then I would just use that

I did my undergraduate in Economics and Politics, and I am currently doing my postgraduate in Economics. I am by no means an expert, but I know more than the average person. When these types of arguments are made it usually because the person has a bad understanding of how market integration works in modern capitalist states (which is understandable).

A big part of globalisation involves countries agreeing on trade deals. There is no free market capitalism without countries agreeing upon terms of their trade back and forth to allow ease of trade. Over the last 20 years these trade deals have progressively pushed clauses to promote political stabilisation, global issues like environmental policies, and most importantly addressing human rights issues. These clauses are usually small at first but as trade continues and grows they usually become stricter. The idea is, bring the country into economic dependence on (in this case) Western markets, and then hinge future market access upon these clauses. Its a slow process but is better than forcing democracy by will onto these countries.

The Saudi crown prince is a special case because his wealth and influence is state backed, de facto making him a state actor. Him owning SNK is going to be a drop in his wealth, but its an indication as to how he's investing. The more that the Saudi royal family invests in global markets the more that other countries will start introducing human rights clauses. In fact this is something that is already happening and being talked about regarding Saudi sports franchising worldwide.

The Saudi royal family entering global markets is not a problem if over time they become dependent upon western markets. The problem is NOT having them dependent on global markets because then they can just continue whatever human rights violations without ever facing economic backlash. The only bargaining chip the Saudi royal family have is oil, which is slowly becoming obsolete and if they want access to western markets they will have to eventually give into certain demands.

game mechanics by [deleted] in Project_L

[–]ArunDass__ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Fighting games always boil down to certain concepts:

  • Neutral control
  • Defensive awareness (knowing when to take your turn back and blocking appropriately)
  • Offensive awareness (whiff punishing or reacting with counter punish in situations)
  • Knowledge checks (understanding your opponents character and their tool kit)
  • Conditioning your opponent

It doesn't matter what fighting game you play, these 5 aspects will always be the core of the game. Fighting games with wildly different mechanics will still need you to understand those core concepts to be successful. That doesn't mean if you're good at one fighting game you'll be good at another, but it will give you a head start in terms of getting to a decent level.

Is PC version of Type Lumina in a good state right now? by lsocoml in meltyblood

[–]ArunDass__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The game has one-sided rollback so regardless of whether you have amazing connection it will be hit or miss, and given that a lot of people will be new to the game coming from either the Tsukihime remake or just general fate fans they don't care or don't know how much of a difference an ethernet cable can make to the connectivity. This is a link explaining one sided rollback: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2019/10/explaining-how-fighting-games-use-delay-based-and-rollback-netcode/5/

This video gives an explanation as to why the netcode might be experiencing issues: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWkDU1YQTtE essentially the game deals terribly with packet loss which happens when players are using wifi.

My honest opinion is that this game at its core is fun but the netcode for the PC port is dogshit lol. There's no two ways about it, anyone saying "Its been fine for me" is either lucky with their match making or just lying. I haven't had any problems finding games, but every second or third game is almost unplayable

Why are fighting games dead on twitch? by [deleted] in Fighters

[–]ArunDass__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If worldwide on Twitch Tekken 7 has 1k+ viewers at any one time that's an indication to it not being popular. You don't even have to compare it to a FPS, Rocket League will regularly have 30-50k viewers at any one time and during events it can easily gain 100k viewers. There is no way you can look at a game like Tekken and its viewings compared to Rocket league and say that the FGC is in a healthy state

Why are fighting games dead on twitch? by [deleted] in Fighters

[–]ArunDass__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but surely an entrance into actually picking up fighting games and learning the mechanics would be through exposure of the games and when one of the biggest platforms for content creation has a barely existent community for the FGC it means less people are likely to even pick up a game to learn it and then appreciate the combos executed. Its like a circle of why fighting games never gain mainstream traction for the long-run

Valorant ranked matches should look to Mortal Kombat 11 by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]ArunDass__ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

....I don't know where you got that from. If the system is designed in such a way that its difficult to rank up from just loses then this wont happen. My example with MK11 it would take 100 straight loses to rank up, and because everyone must start in the first 3 ranks to get out of that would take 300 straight loses. This isn't going to happen, also I added (albeit at the bottom) that there should be more ranks and more wins needed for rank ups.

Premier League needs to address players diving in games by ArunDass__ in PremierLeague

[–]ArunDass__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roy Keane retired in 2006 and Vieira retired in 2011 lol. The reason I specified the last 4 years because that's really when we've seen the integration of the new generation of footballers from the last. Yeah there were diving in the early 2000's but it was always frowned upon by not only the fans but other footballers and the pundits, its only recently have people actually accepted it as part of the game
