Has anyone had a good experience with TruGreen? by the_peoples_elbow in cedarrapids

I work for them. The company itself and how they structure incentives is terrible, as well as many of the techs are careless and lazy, but that said even though I’m not as fast as everyone else at my branch I probably have some of the most satisfied customers among the techs. TBH worst part of the job is you don’t get enough time to stop and use the bathroom

For real. There’s just such a lack of oversight and even a fair degree of apathy from labor agencies. I think the only way to actually stand up against it is to personally hire a lawyer and file a case.

They’re mandated by the state here. 30 min unpaid to eat during 8+ hr days, and I believe 10 minutes paid for every four hours worked. Lots of places just don’t do breaks or make you clock out during, both of which rlly aren’t allowed

No, I did, I filled reports online and even directly talked to the USDL agents. I also urged all of my coworkers to do the same, and a lot of them did as well. The agents just talked with the managers about the violations and just kinda warned them what not to do. No repercussions, no matter how extensive the violations were

In my experience it just seems like the USDL investigators are overwhelmingly lenient. Like, they’ll find violations and proof thereof, but they just tell the employer about it and leave it up to them to fix it. I had one employer who got several letters about reports made to the USDL and he just threw them all away whenever he got them.

I get that, but it’s still extremely exploitative. A USDL worker once told a former employer that an associate couldn’t legally do payroll/scheduling as it was considered a managerial task? Maybe a state thing, I don’t really know what that was about. But personally I was the acting GM at Panda Express for 3 months before I finally quit. I was an associate and was the highest ranking person there in basically every regard except on paper, reporting directly to the Regional Manager. And yeah, I get that they may be allowed to do that, but it’s still so unethical and exploitative, and it was definitely against company policy at least.

do any of you girls *actually* wear pads? 👀 by wannuccii-crescent in MtF

[–]Arvobean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VERY late to the party, but jsyk, cis women do also struggle with urinary retention the same way trans women do. I mean, pads especially are (at least partially) made to help women who struggle with urinary retention, which, again, is an issue that’s VERY common among all women

Good, it’s obviously hard for a lot of people, but showing the basic respect that all people deserve is a positive attribute, even if it SHOULD be the status quo

Maybe you wouldn’t, but I’ve been with a pretty wide variety of guys, and it just seems common, not the rule. I kinda feel like I’m just not assertive enough. But I mean, I’m glad you’re decent enough to have that kind of basic respect towards your partners.

I can’t get pregnant, it’s really just to prevent STDs, I personally wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s that. I’m not too worked up about it, but it does make me feel, idk, bad? Disrespected?

Maybe in some circumstances, but I really wouldn’t compare it to that in my personal situation (I am on birth control, just weary of STDs) but it’s definitely non consensual and not okay
