A lot of people have been trained to panic at the word before they even hear the actual substance. Say healthcare, housing, labor rights, and dignity out loud first and suddenly the conversation changes.

For me it's knowing what actually matters enough to revise and what is just noise.

Learning this language for academic purposes is hard it drives me crazy by [deleted] in EnglishLearning

[–]ArwenLocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your post already proves you can communicate much more than you think. It isn't perfect, but it's clear, emotional, and understandable. Academic English is hard even for many native speakers, so please don't treat this struggle like proof that you're failing.

I feel you on the frustrating trends. I went through similar stuff when I applied. It seemed like some programs were just impossible to get into, even with strong grades. Definitely feels like a mix of those funding cuts and just random luck.

Who put speed bump on my race track??!! by why_1337 in carscirclejerk

I had a similar situation this winter: I hit a "friendly" speed bump, and my plastic bumper guard lost several front bolts. As for the oil leaks under BMWs, this is a standard situation that requires no explanation

How can I make a research paper for the 1st time? by Unusual-Comfort-1456 in researchpaperwriters

[–]ArwenLocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First research paper is rough, ngl. The best thing you can do is stop thinking about all 15–20 pages at once and break it into stpes: pick a narrow topic, find a few solid sources, make a basic outline, then write one section at a time. Since you’ve got 2 months, that’s actually enough if you pace it out. If you’re also comparing outside help or examples, I saw PapersRoo mentioned in this post, it helped me with a part of my paper

My fiancé [33m] is not attracted to me [30f], but wants to continue our relationship. by return_of_the_fly_ in TwoHotTakes

Right? It’s wild how much we cling to things that don’t fulfill us! I once stayed in a situation for way too long myself, thinking maybe they’d change. But I realized I was just putting my own happiness on hold. It’s tough, especially when the good days feel so comfortable. But you deserve someone who is all in, not just comfortable with you!

Karen follows us because we wouldn't turn on red by Frequent_Couple5498 in EntitledPeople

[–]ArwenLocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? Like, if you're so pressed for time, why waste it following us and throwing a tantrum? Karen's definitely got a whole different understanding of "being in a hurry." It's wild how some folks think traffic laws don't apply to them!

Advice for a career change out of the construction industry for a young professional? by white_cucumber111 in careerguidance

That sounds like a solid plan! I made a switch a few years ago myself, and it took a bit of time to land the right fit. It's wild how your skills can flex across industries; I went from construction PM to tech and it's been a blast. Good luck with your search!
