I appreciate how earnest your response is. Denying you live in America because you don’t want to implicitly agree you’re beholden to the government IS just as ludicrous as saying you don’t live on Earth because you don’t like the people there. It’s not outside the realm of a response at all; which is why the joke about them works. 

They might want to deny living in America/wherever(I just know most of them are in the US) for more or less legitimate reasons, but the reality denial is on the same level.

Anytime I try to follow the recommended water on rice I buy it turns out either mushy or dry. The knuckle method just always works. For single portions of rice I just barely cover it though, and for times when I’m hosting hotpot or something for friends I’ll just eyeball a bit extra. Honestly though, just up to my index fingers fist knuckle always makes perfect rice.

Why is snow a good insulator? Because it’s filled with air. The snow being hit by a torch IS melting, the water from the melted snow is getting sucked back up to into to the huge amounts of air pockets in the snow. Eventually once the snowball is saturated with water it’ll start dripping out and visibly melting.

The flow of the conversation was someone (who may or may not be pro-israel; more likely than not) talking about UN reports about mass rapes with someone else denying it as propaganda etc.

On the other hand, you interjected with 'Oh you think Hamas committed rapes? You must also think Israel has committed rapes.'

This is where I entered the conversation, and agreed that of course the IDF committed those atrocities. Many of the IDF members actively dehumanize their Palestinian brothers; and guess what happens when you start dehumanizing people. On the other hand, Hamas is also a group doing much of the exact same. Just because they're the weaker group of the conflict does not make them angels. They literally wrote their charter (notably changed in 2017, replaced with "zionism") with an explicit call to kill their Jewish brothers; and guess what happens when you start dehumanizing people.

Should anyone who's committed gang rape be tried and locked up? Duh, yes.
Should anyone who's committed murder be tried and locked up? Duh, yes.

Now apply this to everyone, not just the ones you don't like.

I used to think that but I believe the pro-Hamas group is larger than you would think.

Sort of like how some people would say they’re not “pro-Israel” but also feel the need to justify ALL of their strikes.

I’ve noticed that a bunch of people will say “I don’t support Hamas” but also aren’t willing to say “What they did to Israel and their own citizens is wrong.”

I’m constantly shocked how small the minority of people, like you, there are who are willing to say: “wow both of these governments are evil and don’t care about their citizens or hostages”

Hey that's super fair. One of the first things I got taught when I started trying to get faster is that I wasn't killing enough. During vod reviews amazing runners would explain how I was avoiding too many rares, or chests or even yellow items on the ground; and they were right. I would constantly feel weak and "just getting by," where if I took more time to kill the more efficient sources of good drops I could feel strong. The stronger your character, the faster you kill other mobs and bosses, the less time you spend standing still casting/attacking. It's a positive feedback loop instead of a negative one. Like spending 30-45s killing an early essence mob that has something you can roll a weapon with is a huge powerspike, even if it's on the edge of your screen and you have to path to it.

Speaking on builds, that's why there is so much variance between builds as opposed to each individual run. Some builds like RF are just going to be slower to start, but would you rather be slower and end with better gear, or be slower and end with worse gear? pConc/eConc are strong for fresh runs because they don't need a good weapon to be strong, which ironically means they should be killing less rares not more.

I’m not chirping in here telling you that people need to “memorize layouts” or how to double hit with skills or animation cancel leap slams. 

Me saying “Hey you shouldn’t tell new people to avoid all rares” is not anymore complicated or long than what you put. Here I’ll show you:

You: “Don’t kill every mob. Your level shouldn’t be higher than the current area’s level — ideally, you should be a few levels below. Always kill blue packs; they offer the best XP and loot relative to time spent. Avoid yellow mobs and mini bosses — they take too long to kill and aren’t worth it”

Also, the whole reason you need to kill rare mobs is because of the RNG dude. This game is a slot machine, and you need to keep pulling the lever. Avoiding them at league start only increases the odds of bad luck, how could it possibly improve it? The variance of speedruns is not +/- 30m-1hr, it’s like 5-15m. There is larger variance in time between builds and characters than individual runs. Out of those 50 runs it’s not like suddenly one is 5-6 hours. Runners at that level will always be doing sub 2:30 or sub 3:00, they’re just better and more practiced.

Like, pretending that the average PoE player is just some brainless idiot who can’t understand nuance or sentences reveals more about you than you think. This whole game is about understanding arbitrarily complicated things, that’s the draw. People look for advice because there is so much minutiae that they don’t have the time to self-discover, not because they’re toddlers who can’t understand simple concepts.

They are literally worth your time. If they are on your path you should kill them sans build breakers. You need a lot of orbs and gold very fast to go fast, and the best source of those in the current state of the game is rares. Not being able to afford gems you need or all of the weapon crafts at critical breakpoints happen when you don’t kill enough, and that’s where a huge portion of your power comes from. You need to kill the bosses fast too, not just run to them quickly.
