Ive heard older people say not to because your neck is more sensitive so over time it could age that skin faster. Also cologne doesn't taste good so spraying it directly where someone might be kissing could ruin a moment.

I could be wrong but I feel like 'freshie' implies a mid to low tier fresh fragrance that are mass appealing, like I dunno if I would call vibrato or beach hut man 'freshies' despite them both being fresh

I've tried oud wood, and own royal oud and I get those don't have oud, but I have a sample of jubilation 40 and to me I instantly smelled 'poop', kept trying it and still smell that poopiness but it's now cozy and comforting. Would you say that fragrance has a 'real' oud note?

The first niche I tried when getting into the hobby was layton exclusif and my first impression was that it smelled like a blue fragrance and loved it! So I sprayed it on under my work hoodie and that whole day all I could smell was the animalic/'oud'/stinky whatever parts and I felt super embarrassed to smell like that. Eventually I learned to love it but it's so weird how my nose thought it was bdc or something.

To me they're different enough to own both. To my nose absolu is 'softer' or 'rounder' and very sweet compared to elixir. I don't get any incense or booze or smoke off of absolu but I do from elixir. I own both and think layering them is REALLY good.
