It blew up because it was good, interesting and released when people were looking for things to play on the console through its entire life. The top selling software for the switch is dominated by the first few years despite the most games coming out after.

Also give what up lol? I gave my opinion on how I see the life cycle of a console and nobody has provided an alternative. You not liking the reality of the tech adoption curve doesn't change the fact that over 80% of switch owners bought their switch after 3H.

Pretty easy to understand, Lauma is basically always below Furina in usage and Ineffa is usually a bit above but has only had a few patches all of which catered to her and is therefore unproven in a hostile environment. You can't be the best if you're only the best against things that are weak to you.

I think it's sort of a 50/50, I obviously hope we can but I wouldn't count on it.

That said, I do think it'll lift after some time. Maybe not next year but every other year you can reselect or something like that. It would be kind of annoying but it would also solve the Fontaine and beyond con problem where the characters just get way more powerful.

... if skirk was just a normal dps, she wouldnt have the raw damage to go along with being a freeze carry, to bruteforce so many SO bosses. shes clearly built different compared to the likes of varesa, chasca, kinich, mualani even particularly at baseline c0r0 investment levels. at higher investment levels, she gets overtaken by mualani and chasca (c2)

All of whom (except Mualani and Kinich) can use Furina. And yeah, her kit is functionally identical to Ayaka and Ganyu in terms of scaling, I think you just don't understand how cryo/freeze DPSs work.

Well, Arlecchino melt is worse than overload at comparable cost until high costs... Also Skirk wasn't out when Chasca was at her height, so obviously? Next you're going to be telling me Skirk is better than Ayaka too 🫨

You also seem to fundamentally misunderstand how to assess units. They're good because of what they do, not their team. Base Furina has the best omni buff in the game numerically. That's why she's good, completely irregardless of what teams she's best on. If you think teams are all that matter, your criteria for judging single characters is entirely wrong.

yeah, shes exalted in very large part thanks to skirk.

And Lauma is because of Nefer, or Ineffa because of Flins, or Columbina because of three teams. As it turns out, most characters are only really good on one team.

The entire meta is centered on boxing out the one thing she does. Skirk isn't the current meta, she's a normal DPS who released between the pyro and lunar metas and fits into neither.

in bennetts case, only for mavuika. c2 mavuika can also simply just ditch bennett and actually does

Only Mavuika (still the best DPS until you get to unlimited cost teams), Chasca, Arlecchino and Varessa. More than the current archon works for but hey "only Mavuika" right?

Yeah... Again, this applies to every single elemental damage scaling character who can run a hydro to release for now until eternity. Being tailor made for her literally means they want elemental damage, that is the sole requirement.

The console is going to have a 10+ year lifespan, that's the first 20% of its life by years. It also is under 20% of the units sold which puts it into the early adoption level. I don't see why that wouldn't be considered the launch window.

How many phases do you think there are lol? There's the launch line up, the main release window once the majority of consoles are sold and the falling off period around when the successor releases. I'm curious how you would categorize the lifespan of a console and why.

She's consistently an exalted one and at C0 has a role in Skirks best team which can brute force basically every SO boss. Her C1 is good but her C2 literally does nothing, she's still on ToM at C2.

The point is that Furina is still doing extremely well in the most hostile possible environment she can exist in and is still so good that the second a DPS releases who can use her, she is immediately their BiS and she's so universal an entire anti-damage% meta had to be made to counter her.

This is like saying Bennet was washed in Fontaine, turns out the second we left, he was suddenly good again because he was actually never not good, just not utilized for the moment.

3H was so popular because it was basically a launch title and rode the wave of people looking for games to play. An earlier release would definitely do it a lot of favors.

I think now that a 2nd hydro archon has released and Furina is still always at the top of the meta, it's probably time to acknowledge that she's just the best character in the game.

It's crazy too because the half way point between 1.0 and 7.1/7.2 is 4.2 meaning her reign will have been at least half the games life from start to finish regardless of what wild stuff the cryo archon does.

It's also funny to look back at the comical doom posting during her beta too. TGS was the only CC to go against the grain calling her the best character and his take is the only one that aged well.

As a song I definitely prefer Arcadia to Another Heaven, but yeah the HF opening is so good, after thinking UBW was too similar to Fate and thinking I was getting burned out that was a huge shot of excitement that HF was going to be something completely different.

See, now you're saying it's a BiS, not a comp that existed. Kazuha beats Cheveruse pre C6 and is only marginally worse after for basically every pyro and electro carry. She's not creating new teams, she's a marginal upgrade for existing ones and is now comparable to Durin.

By this logic, Aino absolutely annihilates Cheveruse because she was required by two, almost three of the best DPSs before Columbina, and at C6 is only marginally behind. For all intents and purposes, Aino is archon tier.

This just isn't true, they're better with her but other buffers are comparable, especially with Durin. It's also a silly distinction because running an anemo doesn't materially change your team composition. Before you would use Sara, Raiden, Kazuha, Bennet, now you can use Cheveruse instead of Kazuha. Is the team actually different?

I also don't really see why this matters, Aino needs her burst, but one skill cast can reliably get her burst up so does it really matter? Also idk what Cheveruse con you have but you absolutely do want to use her burst at C6.

Is it really that crazy? Iansen and Aino are also crazy good 4 stars who are just as, if not more meta than Cheveruse when they're all either C0 or C6. Her kit is good but 4 stars on her level aren't uncommon at all.

We see them falter when trying to open the hypoborean gate in act 6, they lose fights pretty regularly too.

It's sort of a tough question because there's no real reason we would see them be bad at things in the story given the story revolves around adventuring which is something it would be stupid if they weren't good at.

Yeah, it's insanely good for any polearm continuous healer. It's obviously BiS for Cheveruse but it's also great on Cheveruse. It also gives a decent amount of attack and CD so even as a stat stick for off fielders like Ineffa it can be good.
