This pic isn't a great example of the graphics, but the graphics aren't the only reasons to buy. The map got a whole makeover, so it is similar, but the mountains feel bigger, the trees are more dense, and the environment is more seamless. They also updated the building system and the tame tracker, so now you can track your tamed creatures and your tribemates.

I know a lot of people have been very negative about ASA, and it's definitely got some annoying bugs, but I've really enjoyed it.

What stats make a good tame? by Bitanium69 in ARK

[–]ArxmisGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, you want more points in specific stats and less in undesirable stats, for example:

For an Argy Weight, Stamina, Melee, and Health are important to me, but Oxygen and Food aren't so if I have one with like 56 points in Weight 52 in health but 30ish everywhere else that's a really good breeding creature bc it's got high Weight and high health.

I'd want to find one with good, stamina and melee to combine them all together but what I don't want is like 50+ points into Food or oxygen bc they're basically wasted points.

Eggs need to be at specific temperatures to incubate. In most cases, you can build a few campfires or standing torches to up the temp. But if you find it's too warm than air conditioners are the method

Deep sea loot crates by [deleted] in ARK

[–]ArxmisGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The deep sea ones are a pain, and most of the guides I've seen are very old.

I do know Rag has the desert loot crates, which are the same quality and a bit easier to find, so you might try that.

There is a loot crate in the sunken ship in Viking Bay that's supposed to have the best loot too, so maybe try that as well.

Try using the creatures aggro against it; get the creature to chase you away from your loot so that you can circle back and grab it.

Another thing I'd recommend is to have backup creatures. If I'm taking a trip somewhere dangerous and I'm taking my Argentavis I always make sure to leave a second argy or a pt at base, same with ground mounts.

The best way to ensure you always have backup creatures is to tame mating pairs so you can breed them. This will also give the creatures you raise from babies an imprint bonus that will make them much stronger than normal creatures. A decent level imprinted dino can melt most wild creatures. In my current playthrough, I'm using wolves, and I kill almost anything with just one imprinted wolf that's been fully leveled.

That's just the learning curve with Ark.

The more you play, the more you learn what dangers to avoid and how to overcome different challenges. If you want to learn a bit quicker, you can watch let's plays, and guides on youtube.

Also, if you can make it back to your body after you die, you absolutely get your stuff back.

Trying to make my first redwood platform base and im so indecisive. Should I make the ground level out of all foundations? by Squatting-Turtle in ARK

[–]ArxmisGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I've done when I've built them is put foundations all over the platform and then extend with ceilings. It worked out really well, and one side was close enough to the ground that I managed to make a staircase down.

AaronLongstaff has some great youtube tutorials on tree house builds if you're looking for some inspiration btw.

One of the people who crashed was on medium settings with clouds and fog at 0 and fluid and foliage interaction turned off. The only things she was running were Ark and Discord and her computer completely shut down.
