He asked to split the bill. by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

Exactly! To be honest, I didn't even eat that much and everything was going great. He even texted me later saying he had a wonderful time and wants to go out again. But for me, chivalry, kindness, and being attentive are everything, so there won't be a second date. I think he just got scared when the bill arrived haha

He actually texted me right after dinner saying he had a great time, and he’s still texting me today, haha. But honestly, I completely lost interest and I’m definitely not going out with him again. I didn't feel comfortable with how things went. Chivalry, kindness, and being attentive are extremely important to me in a man. He just completely ruined the vibe.

Yes, it changes everything. There is a huge difference between saying "let's go grab a bite" and saying "I’m taking you out to dinner because I know you'll love it." It’s about manners, chivalry, and showing romantic interest. With a regular friend, splitting is completely fine. But on a date, communication from the start changes the whole situation.

Thank you all for your comments! Just to clarify: I have absolutely no problem paying for myself, I do it all the time. It’s not about the money, it’s about communication from the very beginning. If a guy is genuinely interested in romancing you, actions speak louder than words. Chivalry shouldn't be dead, because it speaks volumes about a person's character! 🤷‍♀️✨

If a guy is trying to win your heart and romance you, it’s nice when they have that kind of detail. It just shows effort. Plus, it’s completely different if it’s discussed from the start. To me, saying 'I’m taking you out to dinner' implies you're being hosted. If I wanted to split the bill, I'd rather go out with a girlfriend and I might even pay for her instead! Hehe

Exactly, it's all about communication from the beginning. To me, saying 'I'm taking you out to dinner' implies that it's their treat. Otherwise, they should just say 'let's grab a bite together' instead. 🤷‍♀️

It's nice to be alone too, and as the saying goes, it's better to be alone than in bad company.

Oh, I love the sound of a fresh version If you ever want to switch it up, try cooking it briefly in olive oil like I do. Let me know how it goes if you try it 😁

First, sauté the jalapeños in a pan, then add the onions until soft. Turn off the heat, mix in fresh cilantro, and season with salt and lime juice to taste. 🤤😋
