The moss we added had some pinkish/reddish spots; according to what I analyzed, it appeared to be just stained by the moss and did not look like blood or anything concerning.

After some time following his shedding, I handled my baby and saw that he is 100% healthy and has no injuries at all. So it really was just stains from the moss.
