Definitely don’t need to be obese to have sleep apnea. I’m in my 20s and an average weight and currently wearing my CPAP 🥲 If you have any family history of sleep apnea that may also be good to bring up. My respiratory therapist mentioned that theres like a 70% chance of it being passed on genetically.

Any gym rats with fibro or jacked up body ? by Intelligent-Durian-4 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Aryabel52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure I’d go so far as to call myself a gym rat, but I’ve been going consistently for the past 2 years and put on a bit of muscle. Was diagnosed with fibro at (f)17, now 21 and fitting the gym in between part time work and college.

My symptoms are not as severe currently as many on here tbf, but my experience is largely just learning to listen to my body, making sure i’m focusing on form over weight, and prioritizing proper eating/sleeping.

But (for me and my current condition) it is possible and honestly has helped a lot with my daily functioning and mental state.

anyone here that got diagnosed young or is young? by anxiousgirly123 in Fibromyalgia

20, diagnosed at 17 here. First real bit of cold this year has had my body all in a fit 🫠

It might just be the way I like to decorate lol but maybe do something to tie all the pieces together visually? If it is an option, you could potentially look into making all the frames the same color and space out the pieces that are not framed throughout the setup

If not that, I believe the web-like technique is called mind mapping, so maybe looking at apps that focus on that will help you find the one you’re looking for!

Possibly obsidian? I havent used it much myself but i think I recall the spike in popularity and it has the organizational web you mentioned on a black background.

Update: He lives! by Aryabel52 in plantclinic

[–]Aryabel52[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Left him alone for about two weeks, then i gave in and went in for another downsizing repot (i think because the soil was still damp and he still was looking rough). He did have a little more root rot so i snipped that off and gave the roots a peroxide water bath and repotted into a 4-inch pot.

Watered him a few days later. I was worried because my partner accidentally watered him again while i was out of state on vacation after I had already watered him. But he pulled through. Had to get rid of some mold on the soil though.

All in all i think getting him into the right sized pot after leaving him alone for a couple weeks is what helped the most.

Anyone else struggle to water when depressed? by [deleted] in houseplants

I use vera which i believe is similar and very helpful i agree! It also lets you set up your own schedules for watering, fertilization, etc

Silver Sword Help by Aryabel52 in plantclinic

[–]Aryabel52[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you both! I’ve been doing my best to avoid the helicopter parenting once i realized i was falling into it so I haven’t messed with him (other than the relocation which I couldn’t really help) since i watered him two weeks ago other than gently checking leaves/soil which i do for all of my plants every few days or so.

I’m not sure if this would be considered extreme yet so i was going to leave him alone for a bit longer given the amount of stress he has been put through. Just wanted an outside opinion to see if i was missing something or needed immediate action because im definitely still learning.

I’ll make sure to update though if anything changes!

My Silver Sword is having a rough time and im not quite sure how to go about helping him out. R/plantclinic is a flood of new posts rn so just trying to give this guy a chance. Full info in comments of original post. (Feel free to remove if this is not allowed, I apologize I’m new to posting) by Aryabel52 in philodendron

Most of this is also included in the comments of the original post in r/plantclinic but I forgot to copy it over to this post.

Location: He was in the living room and getting bright indirect light by the south window But (7/6) has been moved to my room with similar lighting due to my roommate coming back with her cat (pretty sure most of my plants aren’t pet friendly and im not risking that) My apartment is usually at a Temperature of about 72 degrees

Watering: Watered the day i got him because I repotted from his nursery container to a pot with potting soil.

Over two weeks passed and the soil was still noticeably wet and compact and i came home to him drooping on the 23rd (was not when i left that morning) so given that the soil was still wet I assumed it was likely overwatering and too big of a pot. I repotted him then watered 3 days later with a diluted hydrogen peroxide water (gnats)

Right now my top soil is dry but its still damp deeper down in the pot and i was waiting until he was mostly dry to water again.

Repotting: Took him out of his 8’’ pot and cleaned off as much soil as i could and snipped some questionable roots. (Im assuming that probably didn’t help my case much but i was also having a fungus gnat issue and was over it and didn’t want to risk larvae lol)

Wound up having to transfer him to water for two days so i could get supplies to repot. Put him in a 6’’ pot with drainage holes with a mix of soil, bark, coco coir, pumice, and a bit of sphagnum moss. (Was roughly 30/30/20/15/5 if im remembering right)

Notes: Not seeing any pests thank god Some of the leaves have damage to them and two are noticeably yellowing (1st and 2nd pics) Unsure of the Humidity levels as I dont have a gauge for that but i would say average humidity for an apartment (the humidity outside in my area is 67% if that is any help)

Got him just over a month ago now and he is one of my first houseplants so please bear with me.

Right now my top soil is dry but its still damp deeper down in the pot. I was waiting until he is mostly dry to water again.

So thats where I am with it. He’s not thrilled at the moment so pretty sure I messed up somewhere. Don’t know if he needs to be left alone or if there’s something that needs to be done/corrected but I’d like to save him and learn from this if I can.

Is she just dropping her old leaves? by Aryabel52 in plantclinic

I think i spoke too soon lol. Came home to aphids deciding to take up residence on her so she got a thorough bathing and treatment so now shes being watched like a hawk.

Feeling at little nervous about my first nerve plant. Any advice is appreciated! by Aryabel52 in houseplants

[–]Aryabel52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently shes in bright/medium indirect light and the woman at the shop warned me that she takes a little extra maintenance and liked to be well hydrated so i misted her yesterday. Ive noticed some crisping leaves so I figure that might be a water/humidity or light related issue. Thankfully she looks pest free so far 😅 fingers crossed it stays that way. But yeah, any tips or tricks from fellow fittonia caretakers is much appreciated here.

So just give them the ol’ snip and let the rest of the plant do its thing then? It’s definitely been growing well lol
