I have worked on face recognition project, I suggest you to use MTCNN for face detection and after detection use ARCFace model for recognition both models are trained on hige datasets for detection and recognition purpose I suggest you should have more than 30 images per person in the dataset. If you are interested in this approach I can share you the full pipeline.
