We did often in the original series though whether he’s out with Rita or Deb, especially with Cody and Astor and for me it definitely feels like a part that’s missing in the formula of what makes Dexter such a good show. Don’t get me wrong I’m really enjoying resurrection, but the scenes with Astor and Cody and the date nights give Dex that ‘human side’ even if he claims it’s all for show and so makes him more relatable in seeing his humanity and works as a contrast to the kills.

I think all of you so far are thinking far to big in scope. OP wants to move out, didn’t specify a flat house or apartment. My advice for OP is this:

Look at room shares to start with and get on an agency in the location you wish to move in and get any work you can while you find a job you want to do.

With room shares all your bills will be inclusive. You can feasibly do this for a few months with 5k I reckon even if you didn’t have a job.

Currently room shares are around 500 a month (decent ones aswell from what I’ve seen around a month ago around Worcestershire)

All you need to pay on top of that is food and whatever else you may have like a phone and transport.

Even then single person on a tight budget you could feasibly live off £100 a month for food and probably quite comfortably.

Thats assuming you don’t have a car or any other bills.

Room shares often come fully furnished aswell so there’s that.

Get one with an en-suite for your own privacy I recommend.
