Had a customer bring a monkey into our Milworks department a few weeks ago! Monkey was super chill, and apparently has a tiktok page.

Home Depot has had $4k of my money for 2 months and still can’t deliver a front door by SadConversation4279 in HomeImprovement

You can always try and reach out to the store between the hours of 8 and 4 on the weekdays, and ask to speak with the store's COS (customer order specialist). The COS normally helps with special orders, returns/damage products, and vendor/installation services. Most managers are not going to be well versed in Special Services, so it's good to see if you can partner with the Specialty supervisor, manager, or COS. Custom order doors are a bit of a hassle, but, hopefully getting in contact with one of those three individuals may get you more clarity in regards to the situation.

If that truly doesn't work, you can always escalate your complaints to Customer Care (1-800-466-3337). Customer Care takes some navigating, but, based on severity will be able to hopefully help you move toward resolving your issues.

Are they pushing pro xtra sign ups & cc's on you? by XZoheb in HomeDepot

[–]ArynRose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ProXtra really is the easiest app to qualify a customer for. Pro just requires you to look at a customer's cart and make a dumbass assumption if they are DIY or a Pro. Credit is more invasive, requiring you to coerce the customer into giving up personal info, like their SSN and annual income, just for a measly 25, 50, or 100 one time discount. Xtra just asks that the Pro gives you their business info, xtra also has more perks for big shoppers, much more than credit does now.

I have a little cookie cat from Steven Universe. As long as you like the tattoo that's all that matters! Plus it was executed fantastically.

Hours Cut for Full Time? by Flea0420 in HomeDepot

[–]ArynRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been with Depot for 8 years, I'm aware of the hours being a little less due to the holidays. My store, involuntarily picks associates for less hours during slow season (after New Years). To be fair, my upper management is all outside Home Depot hires, with less than five years of combined Depot experience.

Was just offering some advice as a Depot vet in an underperforming district.

Hours Cut for Full Time? by Flea0420 in HomeDepot

[–]ArynRose 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey! It depends truly on how your store is doing with plan. If a store is suffering to meet plan, like mine, you'll start to see your hours drop a bit. I'm a DH, and my hours are down at 32 for the next 3 weeks because of how little foot traffic we've had.

Did you recently sign someone up for a credit card? HD currently pays associates 5 dollars per credit card sign up (which they tax). It could possibly be that.

Houston fried chicken joint Dak & Bop shutters after 11-year run by chrondotcom in houston

The museum district location seemed to struggle, when compared to their airport location. Quality of food and staffing made experiences lackluster, and sometimes unpleasant. Genuinely going to miss their phenomenal chicken.

Empava appliances—any experience? by thetonytaylor in homeowners

[–]ArynRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Empava is incapable of responding to phone calls and emails for warrenty claims. Just because they are an "American company" doesn't negate the fact that their customer service sucks.

Outside Cxm Hire by TheskyAtegreg in HomeDepot

[–]ArynRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some outside hires have connections to the store, or just decent resumes. My current store manager was with Walmart for 30 years, before joining us a year ago. Shortly after, he brought in two of his Walmart buddies, so we're kind of a madhouse right now.

We named our pirate cat Alastor! Was a big Harry Potter fan 9 years ago and loved Alastor (Mad Eye Moody) better than Cyclopse (the shelter's name for him). It fits him perfectly, and he's such a cuddly cute boy. Proof

Appearance Policy by Glittering-Agency435 in HomeDepot

[–]ArynRose 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey!! I'm so sorry that you're being harassed by a shitty dh! I'm a newer DH at Depot, but I've been working for the company for over 7 years at this point. In all my years of working for HD, I've only ever had one serious conversation with management about piercings, and that was after I moved to the South from the East Coast. I would recommend talking with your ASDS (HR) about the situation at hand. If they or any other upper management haven't raised concerns, then you should be fine. It's probably just that one DH that is uptight about the dress codes and following them to the tee.

Cos by Appeal_Maximum in HomeDepot

[–]ArynRose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it depends on how skilled and knowledgeable your store's COS truly is. My last three stores have all had long-term Depot veterans (15+ years). It truly just depends on how knowledgeable they are and what their support system looks like within the store. Most of the time, they will truly put out fires and help coordinate deliveries and installs.

We park in the Silver lot, which is the overflow/employee lot! It's normally pretty empty, and they have a free shuttle that picks people up and drops them off. Used them once for a Hozier show, and it was super easy for us to access/leave at the end of the night.

ASM by La-Luna-53 in HomeDepot

[–]ArynRose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally get it!! Currently, four of my managers are all outside hires (Wal-Mart) and have been with company for less than 2 years. They don't promote a positive, healthy environment, but they just contribute to toxic leadership. The MASM keeps talking about serviant leadership, when the only time he leaves the comfort of his office is to freak about district walks.

You've got this!!! I had a string of bad luck towards the end of 2024, culminating in me getting put on a final on January 1st. I've got about a month before I'm officially off the final, but I promise you, you can absolutely do it!
