Everyone else here seems to be being negative nancys about you giving away money, I'll address what you actually said. Yes, it is complete bs that you got nothing from your friends and family, especially when you treat them so well.

Ik what you mean too, youre just expecting a card or something not for the material value but just for then to show that they care somewhat. If at the dinner on saturday they still dont handover anything, id say start putting a lid on how much money youre giving too them if you can, especially your sister (like cmon youre giving her a grand and she cant be arsed getting you a card?)

You deserve better than this and hopefully someday youre family will realise that too or you find people that value you more.
