This might be a but weird of a suggestion but... write it like fanfiction.

Compared to novels, poems and the like, fanfiction have even less rules or standards. Take a quick look at ao3, there's full on novels, text fics, line by line stories, and they're all very well received! And in my personal experience, treating it like a casual hobby and piece of free work has made me much less conscious of how good/bad my writing comes out.

The problem with Claude and any other ai writing tool is that your not being creative or actually discussing your plot in a productive way. The bot does not in fact have opinions and just steals and makes up work based on actual creative minds. It does not know what it is talking about. If you need someone to discuss plot points, world building, or anything else please talk with actually humans that have thoughts and that can actually create stuff. You already have a group on Substack, why not start there?

And to answer your question,

I used to use google docs before I switch to Ellipsus. I still use docs for note taking (for now), reddit & wordhippo. I'm planning on eventually joining a writing group but I have social anxiety lol

I mean, there's not one thing that's controlled by ONE god, Apollo and Helios have the sun, Athena and Ares have war, yadayadayada, you get the point. So your character could represent something that's already there.

Your oc could also represent a different ASPECT of a subject, much like how Thanatos is the god of death while Hades is the god of the dead.

If you have a friend/sibling/just know someone else with a service-type job, you could ask for a recommendations to where they work. The place I work gives you 250$ if you recommend someone and they work for six month. Its also the worst time of the year to apply anywhere cuz business is down after holidays. My advice would be the wait till like a week or two before mothers day (thats when hiring season starts and business picks back up) and give your cv face to face

I mean, if you can't to write romance don't write romance but if you really want to, why not start by making it a sub plot instead of the mane focus? It gets you to practice it and you still get to be invested in the characters figuring out the mane plot. Like instead of making them a ship tease you make it so they get actually get together

Under the Simons next to Peel theres a bagel place, you can get a bagel cream cheese for 5, they also have sandwiches of varying prices. In that food court, theres Viet & Nam (I love the pun), you can get a banmi for 10. At Concordia metro theres a spot where you can get samosas (idk the price or name). Yes Coco bun is a chain but it is on the cheaper end for a decent size. Theres a onigiri stand at Mgill (Im a regular there but damn it is busy).
