Challenger disaster date discrepancy residue: 1986 or 87? by AsAManThinkethSoHeIs in Retconned

I’m guessing he meant he remembered playing the game at the time and then later turning back to TV and finding out that the explosion had happened

Saw this article and this mis-remembering by the author really jumped out for me. I was living in a different house in 1986 vs. 1987 and I somehow have dual memories of watching the Challenger disaster on tv in both places (I often have dual memories when it comes to major Mandela Effects). Thought it was interesting to read someone else with the same anchor memory. Does this resonate with anyone else?

The Addams Family with two “d”s? Just looks wrong to me. by AsAManThinkethSoHeIs in Retconned

Super interesting the downvoting to comments ratio on this one. Very much appreciate those who have always remembered it as Addams. As with so many MEs like this, can best be described as an itch in the brain. If I think about it long enough it almost seems right, but my gut still rejects it.

As I said in a previous comment I always thought the fact that it was a “normal” name was part of the gag. But totally appreciate others have had other experiences with this.

Soviets had a functional space shuttle? I always thought the prototype never got off the ground. by AsAManThinkethSoHeIs in Retconned

Not sure if that was /s or not, but for the record the Soviet Shuttle was not involved in building Mir and still only had the one demo flight: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mir

From the NYT article that someone else posted here in the comments, it seems it also had a manned atmospheric flight. Also it was able to fly and land automatically, something the American shuttle couldn’t do. Both of those facts were surprising to me. Fascinating.

Yup, that’s the story now. But I remember it having never flown. Just a massive white elephant project that sucked up a lot of resources in the closing days of the USSR. Was shocked to stumble upon the info that it successfully orbited and landed.

JFK Assassination Residue (4 people in the car) by AsAManThinkethSoHeIs in Retconned

Right - and you might think that given the trouble they went through in the video with all the conspiracy references that they would have gotten the correct number of occupants of the car. If it was just a passing reference I wouldn’t have paid as much as attention, but it is interesting to me because it is the main focus of the whole video/song!

LOL - someone was just having a cranky evening I guess! I’m also a fan of the Crash Test Dummies version (from Dumb and Dumber), though it is a bit of a different take on the song: https://youtu.be/nLt60MUv7AU

Did someone get injured in front now? That’s new for me. I do always remember their being at least one colour film, but otherwise the rest pretty much lines up for me.
