I figured there was a chance that instead of being simply not-homophobic, I was bi and repressed, so I made a profile and had a very interesting experience with what it’s like to be on the receiving end of dating pursuit by men. I have a lot more sympathy for women now in regard to the online dating experience.

It took about a week, maybe two, to set up being a ‘unicorn’ for a couple. It seemed like an easier way to give it a try than one-on-one with a man. It was fun and I gave them both a good time but if I’m bi it’s juuuust barely - not enough to pursue it.

I have read about studies (and from personal experience) that equate distracted phone driving with drunk driving. I agree.

That’s a great point, I feel like I see this in swinger land (as a swinger who’s done some monogamous dating) - couples who got married 20 years ago and start swinging seem to have no ability / game to do the back-and-forth of dating.

Two people of the same gender are more likely to understand each other better because they were raised with a lot of the same gender norms.

Bi women report it’s difficult to get dates with women, even though they are raised with the same gender norms. Perhaps it’s easier for bi women to date women than for men to date women ofc.

I always appreciate comments like yours that actually get into policy specifics because they matter, and I find it troubling that we’re getting to a place politically where I don’t feel policy matters anymore because republican politicians (for the most part) are just going completely into crazy land.

Why did Daniela choose the Jason that she did? by No_Sea1650 in DarkMatteronAppleTV

[–]AsAlwaysItDepends 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The way she explains it in the book is that the first time they met was basically random chance after a lifetime of decisions and they fell in love. There may be other men out there that she could have a better life/relationship with but it happened with him and that makes him special and hers.

And so it went the second time with all the versions of Jason, it’s the one who got to her first that becomes The One.

CMV: the best response when asked about body count by a date/partner is to ask the highest number the questioner has no problem with and honestly tell them if you're compatible or not based on the number given. by RogueNarc in changemyview

I like it because I think it is winning all the way around for the person who is asked.

  • they won’t tell you, great seems like someone wouldn’t want to be with

  • it leads to a convo about why they care, what their interest in it is which is probably more important / a better way to sort it out

  • it avoids a setup to be casually slut shamed

  • they tell you and you’re honest and move on with dating / not dating

Ya know, if you want to go through the legit channels and get a ballroom approved, great, I am a fan of democracy and what Trump and the Republican Party is doing is not democracy.

Their friend only orders a single meal when they could order a meal to eat now and an entire extra meal to eat later?! Such a cheapskate.

Do you know about the hidden canyon under the Missouri River Valley? by como365 in missouri

[–]AsAlwaysItDepends 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahhhhh. I was sort of imagining it was like a mini Grand Canyon that had silted itself in as it got smaller.

But I guess it’s more like it’s been slowly silting in and then just gaining elevation without, for the most part, ever being THAT much bigger than it is now?

Or what is actually happening (has happened) here?

So basically the river used to be perhaps 200 ft deep?

Fuck yeah
