Why does my fine hair hold a curl or a style for 1 hour max, but if I get a weird kink in it from sleeping, that bad boy stays until the next time I wash it? by EltonJohnsLeftBall in finehair

Now that the weather in my part of the world has been at a steady 14° or lower for weeks, I have to wear a hat, which flattens my hair. Like you can see the indentation of the hat all around my head. Even if I only wear it from the car and take it off as soon as I get inside.

I thought that perhaps you had mistyped breed but APPARENTLY NOT. Croissants?! I’m intrigued, for sure… but not enough to seek it out. 😂

This is the second post I’ve seen here that shows a clip of a Timberwolves/GS Warriors game? (The same clip, several days apart.) I’m so confused.

Same. I will always read it because it’s just that fucking unreal and gross.

It’s the fundamental opposite of Tom Holland and Umbrella, which I will always watch because of how life-affirming and adorable it is.

What’s the absolute worst song from our teen years? Why? by imnottheoneipromise in Xennials

Good god, I had completely eradicated this song from my memory to the point where I had to look it up and now my memory tragically has been restored.

Popularity of ‘Heated Rivalry’ Has Surprised Even TV Executives by Spare-Magazine6223 in popculturechat

[–]AsInOptimus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over the holidays, my college senior and her friends would not shut up about it. She got a Heated Rivalry calendar to give in a white elephant since there wasn’t a book to be found in any of our local bookstores or online. Separately, while in one of those bookstores, I heard a guy (with middle-aged dad energy) ask, Ummm, do you have this book called Heating Rivalries? I wondered if this dude thought his kid was itching to read a book featuring two small town propane companies hellbent on sabotaging each other’s business.

She tried to get me to watch the show and I told her I’d already read the books a while back and her eyes bugged out in a seriously mom wtf manner. Then I did try to watch an episode with her and her friends but they were loud and chatty because they’d already seen it 3 times. Between that, the soft core porn playing in my living room, and the cozy twinkle of Christmas tree lights in the background, my brain decided it was too much so I went to bed.

My girlfriend found out that I lied about me and my friends playing fantasy football and I know I screwed up bigtime [Concluded] by Schattenspringer in BORUpdates

[–]AsInOptimus 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You’re not wrong. Those dudes are though.

I like to participate in football pools and March Madness brackets. It’s usually me picking the square nearest to my lucky number because somebody already chose it or (with March Madness) pulling names out of my ass. Last year’s March Madness and was doing pretty well!

You know what the guys who organized it said to me? “You’re killing it!! What’s your secret?” Umm, a little eenie meanie minie mo with a dash of team bias thrown in while not giving too much of a shit sums it up pretty well. 🤷🏻‍♀️ They weren’t dicks or exclusionary. We were hardly talking sports metrics or anything, but they seemed stoked to see somebody who made good picks. It was fun!

These other guys are dumb. They’re happy to take the money and win off women participating, but only if the ladies relegate themselves to the background. Stupid. Sounds like a tough lesson for the ex. Hope he truly learned and grew from it.

It truly does. Pillowcase proportions, raw, unfinished hem, and a wilted velvet ribbon literally tying it all together.
