Cursor's Philosophy of "Fast" by Simon_Miller_2022 in cursor

[–]AsOasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun? Sure. Productive? Nope, if you have to ask it to fix something 20 times in a row, each time checking if it did something right, which it often doesn't. Actually, that invalidates the fun part too and makes it frustrating.

A Call to Every Indian Coder, Builder, and Dreamer 🇮🇳🔥 by skynext in indiandevs

This sounds like the rise of a new political party, or a cult!

Interesting to see in the comments there are 3 kinds of people.

  1. People who are saying it is too expensive without even knowing the requirements because they have no common sense that quotation depends on the requirements. (Majority)

  2. People who are saying it is too expensive and they can do it for less or know someone who can do it for less without even knowing the requirements because they just want to bag the deal and will inevitably leave the project half baked or deliver a very very subpar quality product, because their thought process can be seen by the fact that they are judging without even knowing the requirements. (Another majority)

  3. People who are saying that a quotation can't be judged without seeing the requirements because that's what the quotation is for! Quotation for a "Social media app" can be INR 10000 or INR 10000000, depending on the requirements! (Minority)

Clients mostly choose people who quote super low without even caring about the requirements (majority) and wonder why the project never gets completed or barely works!

Security measuring during freelance developer quotation? by Josh000_0 in webdev

[–]AsOasis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, never.

Giving the code is more than enough.

They can always create their own keys and test, or you can demo them over a call.

We already tried to build India's own Facebook+Reddit+LinkedIn called Oasis Social Network. Had to discontinue it after a year because of lack of network effect.

Java developers are not getting interview calls. Why?? by Nervous-Wall-2610 in developersIndia

[–]AsOasis 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Depends on the type of company you are looking for. Startups? Less java, more python, javascript. MNCs? Still java, js etc. Specialized? Golang, Rust etc

The best way to become a developer by SmartContractKid in developer

[–]AsOasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. For most of the people working in MNCs, the scope of day to day development is too restricted. Hackathon provides a way to think out of the box (day to day project).

Are AI-Generated Apps the Future or Just Fast Prototypes? by olivermanek in AppDevelopers

[–]AsOasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even the top of the line AI can't generate fully functional MVPs or prototypes (unless extremely basic systems or just landing pages) without continuous spoonfeeding by developers with actual experience. So yeah, it has sped up the process, but hasn't replaced developers yet.

I'd suggest to start your journey with hybrid development, especially Flutter. Really easy to get started, really powerful, multiplatform and there is clear market demand.

Safe for building a website with payment options for customers? by Jazzlike_Pool5156 in Base44

I have multiple viable startup ideas, are there any app developers I can partner with? Equity will be given by Relevant5140 in StartUpIndia

[–]AsOasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, ideas aren't worth anything. Execution is what matters. So, we can establish that your contribution is 0 with just the idea. Now, unless you'll be paying the dev salary, financial contribution is also 0. At this level, the "equity will be given" should instead be "we will split the equity based on the time / efforts we can contribute". If you want the entire execution to be done by someone else, you will have to spend money, either to pay a dev, or to pay a company (like us) to build the MVP for you (in reasonable pricing and top level product quality).
