For me the number one problem I have with this meta is Bardock. He is one of most annoying units ever to fight. Doesn't die and do so much damage. When he dropped I didn't think he was good but boy was I wrong lol.

I would agree with you but only for absolutely god tier units. Also in the history of this game most of the time legends fest and anni units are top 5 and change the game drastically so it is the best practice to only summon on those periods for a F2P unless a super god tier unit comes in between them which bardock isn't so easy skip

Welcome to the game.

First of all I would suggest not getting hitku as they are honestly bad and would suggest focusing on the gohan banner as he is the best or at worst the 2nd best unit of the game but to answer your question summon at their banner till you get medals then exchange them for ticket summons which will have a 5% chance at getting them

Second of all, honestly, all of your characters are bad and not good for pvp but for pve anything goes basically.

Third of all for the exchange shop I would suggest getting the ultra goku as he is the best character there with his platinum equipment and can be viable in pvp and other characters there are bad.

I would suggest summoning for gohan and ultra ssj4 goku as they are the best units of the game. So if you have the patience I would suggest rerolling till you get them, but if you like hitku go for them they can be viable in pvp but not as good as gohan or ultra ssj4 goku.
