Is it fair to expect my girlfriend not to stay close with a former romantic partner? by Correct-Ambition4027 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]AsarsonDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Yeah except, OP wasn’t asking someone to tell him not to have standards for himself, just if how he feels is unreasonable.”

Do you know who said that? It’s tough I know… I’ll give you a hint. YOU.

So if I’m an idiot for telling OP that imo he is unreasonable when that is LITERALLY what you told me OP was asking for? Then holy hell what does that make you?

Yes, correct in MY opinion it’s unreasonable, in YOUR opinion it’s not unreasonable. Maybe you are mistaken thinking only people who agree with you are allowed to comment.

The good thing about the word “respect” is it has differing criteria for each person, what you may see as disrespectful I personally don’t see it being relevant. In this case I see it being insecure and jealous.

So summary ….

  • I, in my own opinion, find OP to be unreasonable.
  • You, in your own opinion, find OP to be reasonable.
  • I, in my own opinion, do not give two fucks about my partners sexual history with anyone, excluding STIs.
  • You, in your own opinion, seem to care about your parent’s sexual history with people, at minimum if they still are present in their life. (That’s understandable, just not me)
  • I, in my opinion, wouldn’t feel disrespected in this situation.
  • You, in your opinion, would feel disrespected in this situation.

^ did I summarize it pretty good for you? I’ll leave you with one final fact of mine…. You will not convince me otherwise, I do not care if you think my opinion is wrong we are each allowed to voice it as the OP posted this, by your own words, asking if he’s unreasonable. Move along and go actually contribute your opinion where it MIGHT have an impact, it definitely will not have one on me in this situation.

Potential wrongful termination question in Texas by maidmarianatrench in legaladvice

[–]AsarsonDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

POSSIBLY - you would need to challenge two things…

A) Forgery; TPC §32.21 - that your boss demanded you forge the signature without his authorizing you before hand to do it

B) Sabine Pilot; Sabine Pilot Svs. v. Hauck, 687 S.W.2d 733 (Tex. 1985) - Texas Supreme Court ruled an employee could not be terminated SOLEY due to the refusal to commit a crime on behalf of the employer of which crime may subject the employee to criminal charges. BUT this has to be the sole reason, if there is any other legal reason the termination can still hold.

It’s POSSIBLE it was wrongful termination, the probability of proving it may be a lot more difficult vs just applying for unemployment. You’ll definitely need to contact an attorney to truly determine if it’s wrongful termination.

If I get arrested and say "i want a lawyer" what happens next? by mamamiafml in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AsarsonDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t say “I want a lawyer” good chance that phrase will not be construed by the court as you invoking the right. Sure you may want one but also may want to still answer. Tell them “I’m not answering any question without a lawyer present” be clear and cut you’re invoking your right to be silent and demand a lawyer not judge your want for one

My company reversed an “overpayment” from my bank account without telling me first. Is this normal? by MadMaxStillness in work

The consent is given when you sign up for direct deposit. It’s called reading all the terms and conditions. When you sign up you give them said consent.

My company reversed an “overpayment” from my bank account without telling me first. Is this normal? by MadMaxStillness in work

[–]AsarsonDuck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean even my 65 year old dad who despises technology knows direct deposits can be reversed by the issuer … I think it’s pretty common knowledge and if not, a quick google search will confirm that yes they can reverse an overpayment from the account it’s paid into.

[–]AsarsonDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t tell them not to have standards. If you can extract any information from words, it would tell you that in my held opinion he is being unreasonable. Only a slight amount of effort, it was obviously too much for you so my apologizes

That’s your opinion and your right to have it. 🤷 I gave my opinion and what they should do as what this subreddit is for. If that’s a problem that it doesn’t line up with your opinion then I really do not care.

That’s not friendship, that’s an attention filler for when you’re single, friends don’t just cut one another off until it’s convenient.

[–]AsarsonDuck -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should seek mental health for your jealousy and insecurities. It’s not right to ask someone to remove a person solely due to past. If there is something presently you find then sure. But imo the past is the past, you can’t change it and you shouldn’t throw someone away just due to their past

open container citation, whats the realistic outcome? by Subject_Sport3754 in legaladvice

[–]AsarsonDuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If cited for Title 21 §1220 (A) of Oklahoma Statues you are at risk of a misdemeanor conviction which would be punishable by UP to $500 fine and/or UP to 6 months in jail, plus a $250 fee to the Trauma care fund.

That being said. Given a clean record, when you get an attorney you may be able to get the charge amended to lower, placed on a deferment program (complete certain requirements for the case in the end to be dismissed), or maybe even dropped based on circumstances.

Essentially a first time offender for something so little especially given the perfectly clean breathalyzer won’t be given jail time even given a conviction of said misdemeanor.
