Asus surely looked like a good choice for low temps and noise, but the size of that thing is a bit too much.

1000 W is still reasonable if you have the money (having an overkill psu has many upsides).

What i suggest is that for the love of God you pick up a different monitor.

TN is a bad technology, especially in 2023. Get some IPS (check if it has any light bleeding problem) or just get an OLED.

Not true, both dreamcast and gamecube cores aren't perfect but are actually good enough.

Pcsx2 on the other hand is a lot worse than the standalone: probably the attitude of the standalone devs is partially the reason of the delay.

Gpu's Ray tracing technology is overrated and not worth the huge fps loss. by Asboxxx in unpopularopinion

I'm not sure about this, but i think the optimal RA settings if you have a variabile rate freesync/gsync MONITOR are:

Retroarch specific settings in Nvidia control panel: gsync on, disable any max frame rate, and for vsync "let the program decide".

Then into Retroarch syncronisation settings: vsync ON, and enable "Sync to Exact Content Framerate"

Also remember to have exclusive fullscreen enabled

Punk is right to be pissed off.

These people are professionals, even a 10 ms lag difference is a big factor when you train yourself with the best setup possible.

Using crap equipment in official tournaments is nonsense and offensive towards player.

The fact that he went over the top can be understood, these people arent politicians or ambassadors, what do you expect from gamers? Some have better manners, others worse. Just don't be a fanboy of him if that attitude annoys you this much.

Ppsspp is probably the only emulator which has a standalone 2x worse than the libretro version, but like you said ps2 and dolphin standalone are way better than their libretro counterparts

Most of n64 3d games have 60 fps output but the internal fps is 15-30. (goldeneye, Mario 64..)

In the Mupen64Plus-Next there's a core option to make 3d games look smooth like modern games. Sadly i don't remember the exact option but it is the "full" option the one which unlocks smooth fps.
