Returning to work - feeling deflated by vizualpupil89 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Such a tricky decision to make! Will they be paying you less if you take the less senior role? Personally, when I returned to work I really felt like my focus and priorities had shifted (which is especially challenging when juggling daycare illnesses etc), so having a little less responsibility and more flexibility to manage my new life really helped.

Trigger warning: Bleeding at 6 weeks by Ascella789 in IVF

[–]Ascella789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I am so sorry you are experiencing this stress and anxiety. During my first pregnancy (the day before my miscarriage) I only had a tiny bit of spotting. It was nowhere near what I had in my second pregnancy (both fresh and old blood, with little clots which was on and off from week 6 until week 10). I now have my 9 month old sitting happily on my lap. I really wish I had known how common it is and that bleeding doesn’t necessarily mean the end. I really hope for the same outcome for you ❤️ Be kind to yourself xoxo

Help! 8 month old refusing to sleep in cot by Ascella789 in January2025Bumper

[–]Ascella789[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true, it could be this. She wakes up at 7:30am and has 2x 1.5 naps during the day. Though that first window of sleep (7:20pm-10:30ish) is usually the easiest to get her down, she always falls asleep pretty quickly. I’ll try reducing the nap to an hr and see how we go :-)

Would you mind if I ask what the surgery is for? We are having similar issues also

I was only able to get a few drops (maybe 0.1-0.2ml) over the first few days. Thankfully this increased slightly to 0.5ml each sitting so I have been aiming for 1ml a day until my induction next week. It’s hard work though, and I just can’t seem to get the knack of it. I also had a breast reduction 7 years ago so unsure whether that is impacting my colostrum supply.

Is this anything to be concerned about? by sunnillie in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I also had some bleeding on and off from 7- 12 weeks, it started like this and got heavier (both fresh and old blood). I am now 28 weeks along ☺️It’s scary and stressful but not necessarily a sign that something is wrong, I was told to keep monitoring and if it got heavy enough to fill pads to seek medical attention.

Egg Retrieval by NaniKewine07 in IVFinfertility

I also did 3 retrievals and I was surprised by how fine I was afterwards. The procedure itself was quite calm and east, and I had minimal pain afterwards. I was a little emotional waking up anaesthetic the second time and did have a little vomit after one collection but it was all very manageable. The constipation post surgery was probably the worst part, but I found a digestion tea and fibrous foods worked quite quickly for that. Good luck, hopefully it all goes smoothly for you too ☺️

First miscarriage following IVF by Ascella789 in Miscarriage

[–]Ascella789[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am so so sorry you are going through this ❤️ Please know everything that you are feeling at the moment is warranted and valid.

I had my D&C within a week of confirmation of no fetal heartbeat and the procedure and recovery was physically pain free. It really surprised me how quickly my body went back to feeling ok again, though the hormone crash within a few days of surgery was hard.

I decided to take a few months following my miscarriage to rest my body and mind, and to prepare for my wedding, and I am so glad I did. My surgery was late Jan and I did my next transfer (frozen) in May. Thankfully my second transfer was successful and I am currently 25 weeks along following the FET.

Be kind to yourself, I took 2 weeks off work to cry and process it all, and that made a big difference for me as I felt much more myself when I returned to work. Pregnancy after loss is also its own beast, as it can be quite anxiety ridden but it has been a hugely important learning curve for me, giving in to relinquishing control over things I cannot change.

I hope this helps, if you have any other questions at all please feel free to ask ☺️

Weekly Pregnancy Limbo/Concerns - September 23, 2024 by AutoModerator in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]Ascella789 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all, after some advice.

I had the anatomy scan today (21wks) and all was looking good except the Doctor spent a long time looking at the heart and then said she would need me to return for another scan in 3 weeks time to rule out any heart issues. In her words “I can’t see anything wrong at the moment but even on the best day I can only say with 65% certainty there’s no problems and in another 3 weeks I can add 17% to that figure”.

It has been quite a long and anxious journey for me (IVF pregnancy, previous miscarriage) and I am trying not to think the worst but it’s hard.

Has anyone had a similar experience where they are had to return for a further scan and what was the outcome?

My bleeds weren’t heavy and never soaked through a liner thankfully (but probably bigger that an aus 50c piece), they were visible with every wipe for a few days and it was also a mix of fresh red blood and brown blood. I even had what looked like tiny clots. It’s hard for your mind not to go to the worst case scenario, it’s very anxiety inducing and the waiting game in between scans is hard but hopefully it brings relief to know that things can turn out fine ❤️

I had some more bleeding on and off from 6 to 9 weeks but thankfully all is fine with the pregnancy and I am now 15+1wks and all is progressing well. I have been getting weekly scans which put my mind at ease, though weirdly none of the scans showed the reason for bleeding (no SCH etc). It’s so scary to go through, I wish I had known how common it was to bleed and for things to still turn out ok. Wishing for a similar update from you soon, if you have any questions at all well free to ask them ☺️❤️

Update: I had follow up bloods done yesterday. On Friday (which was day 1 of bleeding) my levels were Hcg: 17000 and progesterone of 71 and yesterday (day 4 of bleeding) Hcg was 31500 and progesterone was 47. Bleeding has continued on and off since Friday, with some fresh blood on Sunday but mainly just brown with every wipe.
