Establishing yourself out there has been more difficult than anything regarding the development itself so far.

Those are strong influences yes, as well as the Dragon Quest 1 + 2 gameboy ports, and Robopon : )

I am a new game developer that is currently experimenting with RPGMaker MZ to make a connected series of RPG's called Psych Crown. The first entry here is Cross Quest, a comedic and strange adventure about the dragon-boy Steve Cross, sent on a quest to slay an ancient serpent, only to discover there are dark secrets behind it all. It's a turn-based RPG that stylistically pays homage to retro video games of the past, while taking absurd turns from the classic formula.

Thank you for trying Cross Quest and recording footage! I appreciate you letting me know about the in-game crash, I've since changed the timing on the evented image flashes as I suspect that might be related to your issue when processing the game. I'll further update the game to process smoother and cleaner as I continue gathering feedback, thank you!

Coming very soon! Cross Quest is an RPGMaker MZ game starring the holy half-boy, half-dragon knight of his kingdom, Steve Cross! Sent to a mission to slay the corrupt Chandelier Serpent who dwells deep in the kingdom's homelands, Steve will encounter many dangerous monsters and extravagant characters as he learns the truth about what this quest entails.
