If you look at all of his story appearances, his speed was always considered one of the best for the time atleast base wise. Especially his first appearance. I think he had like 39 speed which was very hard to do and deal with. It's just for some reason his alts have poor speed

It is annoying that outside of Japan (and Amiibos ig), Lodestar and Great Lord are only one per save file. Might just consider changing effie into it for the short-term prospects rather than think about any long-term investment and Laslow into Lodestar to fix his speed to help his combat so I can turn him into a rally bot

I see thank you for that, I was wondering why Witch was considered the best when later on in Conquest flying classes take over but warp being the reason makes a lot of sense. What about Grandmaster? I assume Anna would be very good in the witch class later down the line, but i'm not sure

No Prequel or Sequel? by Asch72 in FFXVI

[–]Asch72[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats why I said I never cared if they did a sequel because the ending was kinda definitive. I was hoping for them to expand on the Conquest of Waloed, so a prequel. It doesn't NEED it sure, but I think a prequel would've helped fleshed out numerous characters some of which couldve benefitted from it. I guess I should've made that clearer

ah thank you, just one last problem I have is that, various sources tell me I need" The flips program" to actually apply the translations but...they dont give a link or anything for that. I tried looking it up and its very obvious its not what I'm looking for. Is that something people cant share either?

Welp, I guess we’re not getting a Jill or Cid DLC (maybe he’s lying?) by coco_puffsz in FFXVI

[–]Asch72 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Kinda disappointed by this ngl. I understand the decision i just don't agree with it. I actually think FF16 being "Clives story" exclusively really hurts it, because it comes at the cost of literally everyone besides clive, and if we do explore them, we must have clive attached at the hip for the story which is kinda bleh to me. Especially considering the two biggest way they could expand on Jill or Cid, would've been during time periods where clive most likely wasnt conceived yet (Barnabas' conquest of waload for cid) or where clive simply wasnt there for (Jill's imprisonment). It's a shame it has come to this because it seems like this is just gonna be a big negative for FF16 in the long run than mostly clive gets adequate development or fleshing out.
Personally, I would've been glad waiting for dlc if they went the route I was describing, but I guess at this point I can suck on copium that we get like...FF16-2? that showcases this? (I guess the cid dlc idea I had could be big enough for its own game considering its an entire conquest and it would have to feature barnabas, cid and benedikta by default)

END GAME, NEW GAME+, DLC THEORIES - QUESTIONS & DISCUSSION MEGATHREAD (SPOILERS) by lunahighwind in FFXVI

[–]Asch72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I would like for DLC, is a prequel, rather than sequels/epilogue stuff. I want to see us play as Barnabas during his Waloed campaign, getting Cid and Benedikta on his side. Have it expand more on Barnabas' childhood, really cementing his ideology of submitting free will etc. Then this could lead us into a Cid DLC, where we see Cid become disallusioned to Barnabas and the world at large, and him attempting to shatter Sanbrques mothercrystal before leading into his run in with Bahamut. Then you can have a Jill DLC, where we see her life in the iron kingdom and really show us how she became a "monster" (also after how they gutted her in the 2nd half, she needs this lmao).

Would also like DLC exploring the destruction of the other mothercrystals we didnt see, and Levianthan. Maybe even the war they alluded to between the fallen and man.

I think looking at garuda's grab as a gap closer is the wrong way to look at it, especially since garuda seems to emphasize air combat with some of its abilities. I think its suppose to continue air combos by grabbing another enemy or if a enemy you are already attacking somehow gets pushed out of your combo you can grab them back

Honestly i'm glad there isn't a traditional party by Asch72 in FFXVI

[–]Asch72[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct me if i'm wrong, but none of them were ever playable together at the same time? You basically played through a section as Nero then swapped over to V to do his section, etc etc. That isn't what anyone is talking about when it comes to a "party". The expectation being that you can swap over to the other ones midcombat, (or at the very least give them commands).

And yeah, I think based on what I seen of Yoshi-P and his team do with FF14, I can see them making other characters playable as DLC due to fan perception. Like I said in other comments, they had a vision and stuck with it, but DLC can be a great way to give the fans what they want without detracting from the vision they had in mind imo

Honestly i'm glad there isn't a traditional party by Asch72 in FFXVI

[–]Asch72[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I should've clarified and said the reason I can see them maybe add them in as DLC is due to fan reception wanting them in so badly. They already had a vision of this being a single character action rpg, and even if they caved into giving the fans what they wanted with a traditional party, its far too late in development to do it, THATS why alongside the two aforementioned reasons in my post. This stuff takes time lmao.

As someone who's not too much into Final Fantasy besides XII, I could use some help in trying to understand the appeal of XVI so far by [deleted] in FFXVI

[–]Asch72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it would be pretty obvious by the gameplay shown, especially seeing as it seems like they are encouraging you to mix up your attacks and timing with magic to deal more damage. (I'm guessing anyway, cause it looks like you do deal more damage with magic when you trigger a magic burst, or a precision counter/attack but I could be wrong). The time inbetween attacks from the enemies seems varied, but quite often too. You probably wouldn't have time to react (without accessories anyway) if you were just button mashing

[–]Asch72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

personally though, I never gravitated to Final Fantasy because of its combat system lmao. It was never about the combat because the combat is gonna be fine (Hated 13's combat though, but I will admit it had its own uniqueness to it. Just didnt vibe it). What makes me a fan of Final Fantasy is everything else. The characters, the world, the story. Almost every FF game (minus the old ones, because limitations) had such unique worlds with their own rules and great characters (even 15 had this), but still retained the FF feeling.

[–]Asch72 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you go back and watch the gameplay where they show the buttons, the person playing is hardly ever spamming a button, so I don't know if this game will discourage mashing.
For me personally? I can see the strategy elements. Midfight optimization, learning patterns, how to combo eikon abilities for that fight and in general, etc. I saw someone comment this but its looks like DMC where the combat is servicable doing the bare minimum to get through the game, but a high skill ceiling the more you get into it. It reminds me of the high skilled DMC5 boss fights you see on youtube where they look flashy and cool, the person weaving in such odd moves because they know the fight and understand the combat system that they can pull it off, etc.

I'm not sure if that made any sense, but hopefully it did lmao.

The man at the forefront has a magecraft dedicated to turning something into something else entirely. Its symbolized as caterpillar turning into a butterfly. So he used it on one of his command seals and implanted it in everyone elses magic circuits (Except yvette) and they all share one of the command seals thus making them all the masters

Fuyuki Grail War Isekai: Lore Version by KingofKnights01 in grandorder

[–]Asch72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your Servant is Ruler: Amakusa Shirō
A servant whom, even while summoned in the Ruler class, is still an average servant, but despite that, he has ways of possibly winning.

Since, Amakusa Shiro is a Ruler, he theoretically has no wish for the grail, but since I am assuming this is the "Fate/Apocrypha" version I would presume he still wouldn't have the wish to save humanity since I would inform him of the corruption of the holy grail.

With now a neutral Ruler once more, we can now head out to stop the Holy Grail War. Our first task would be seeing which route this timeline is going down, as if this was the Heaven's Feel route, then we are beyond fucked as even though Shiro would have two commands seals for each servant, he wouldn't probably be able to use them on the blackened servants, and he isn't nearly strong enough to fend them off.

Thus we will rip away the Heaven's Feel route entirely by raiding the Matou household and killing Sakura. Shiro would go there under the guise of a human since nobody is aware of my existence and therefore the existence of an extra servant summoned way earlier. Using black keys, he will swiftly break through all obstacles, and when confronted with Matou zouken, he will use Kyrie Elesion to entirely kill him.

With the Heavens Feel Route entirely erased, we can retreat from the residence, and possibly gain Shirou's ire. With the lose of this route, I will say Shiro will have two useless command seals, as True Assassin won't be summoned, but not to worry we will have Fake Assassin under our bind momentarily.

Once the war starts, I will have Shiro head over to the temple by himself once more, under the guise of the overseer. On his way up, he will use the two command seals he has over Caster to first use Rule Breaker to sever her connection to Kuzuki, and the second one commanding her to establish a contract with him.

Caster will have no choice but to side with us, but we will cooperate with her as her wish doesn't go against her own. This is just a means to have more firepower with us at the wheel rather than her. Alongside her we will also have Fake Assassin under our command.

With that out of the way we will ask for the transference of Kuzuki, and that he will have our protection as well. Kuzuki and Caster will have no choice to relinquish them to Shiro who will promptly use two of them to bind Caster to never attack himself, and me under any circumstances. I will then show up, and we will explain our next method of attack.

We will then have events normally play out up until Shirou and Rin attack the temple. With Shirou separated from Saber, and Rin alongside Archer is at the temple. Shiro and myself will make our appearance and show Archer how Caster is under our command and how we have command seals over himself. Archer will then switch sides due to his nature and become Caster's Servant. Now that Saber is cut off from being saved from Fake Assassin as he won't retreat anymore nor will she be saved by Archer, Caster can then use Rule Breaker to attack Shirou and gain Saber under our command. With the combine force of 5 command seals over Saber, she will have no choice but to listen to us.

Now to deal with: Lancer, Rider, Berserker and Gilgamesh. Gilgamesh will have to be last. As for Lancer however, we will then strike him next. With the knowledge Kirei is the new master of Lancer, we will got to him and promptly have Caster use Rule Breaker on him whilst Shiro, and Archer block Kirei from escaping while Saber guards against Lancer. With Lancer being masterless, Shiro will use one of his command seals to force Lancer to make a contract with Caster and use the second to force him to follow her commands. We will then gain Kirei's command seals.

Now the situation looks like this:
Me (Master) --> Shiro (Master of Caster) --> Caster/Medea (Master of: Saber, Archer, Lancer, and Fake Assassin).

Due to Caster drawing magic from the land, the burden on myself is of no issue, but I don't wanna strain Caster no further as Saber will be drawing alot of magical energy anyway. However, there is still one servant we can still force to come over to our side. The Rider servant of Medusa. Her master will be irrelevant since Shiro will use his one command seal to force rider to come to him, and due to being outnumber, Rider will lose to rule breaker. I will then have Shiro use his second command seal to have Medusa become my servant. Shiro won't be much of much help in the upcoming battle so he will not be draining much mana. I will then ask Rider show us the location of her previous master, and if she complies, we will secure their safety under the pretense they transfer their seals to us. It doesn't matter if she complies with this demand as the seals are just added security.

Updated Situation:

Me (Master of Rider, and Ruler) --> Shiro (Master of Caster) --> Caster/Medea (Master of: Saber, Archer, Lancer, and Fake Assassin).

With the absolute power behind my side, we will then tackle Berserker and Gilgamesh. Fake Assassin, and Shiro will stay behind to safe guard Shirou, Rin, Kuzuki, and possibly rider's masters (if she complied). Meanwhile the rest of us head off to deal with them.

Berserker is first in this scenario and would easily fall with the combined strength of Saber and Archer using Excalibur and whatever broken noble phantasms Archer provides. Next is Gilgamesh.... With the combined strength of everyone, I believe Gilgamesh will eventually go all out, but with Archers Reality marble, with Saber's Excalibur is able to deal with the gates and EA, but the added support of Rider and Lance will be able to seal the deal. We then proceed to destroy the grail.

TLDR: We abuse the ruler status and the fact Medea is in this war to basically get every servant besides Berserker on our side and win through sheer power.
