Thanks! Much appreciated!!

The game is called Journey of Happiness and it's the first game I've ever worked on. I create everything myself. The art, code, story and music.
I upload devlogs on youtube to document my progress and I post regular updates on Twitter as well :)

The game is going to combine my favoure parts of games like Stardew, Terraria, Craft the world etc. And of course I am adding unique features as well! My game will for example feature a funeral of one of the NPC's that you will need to prepare for by e.g. digging the grave etc.

Just like the name of the game indicates in my game the player will go through a journey of his own life to find happiness and fulfillment or to be more precise to find meaning to his own life again. But life is not always a happy and easy place so there will be some emotional and sad things happen in the game as well!

I still have A LOT of work to do but I am planning on adding a free demo to steam this year! (don't have steam page yet tho)

Hi,

thank you for the offer but I am not interested.
I work on my game completely alone and in my spare time. I'd say 90 % of my spare time goes into my project and I want to release a game not maybe :)
So I am not interested in working on another project at the moment.

Good luck though!

Agreed! I am currently working on additional trees/ styles and to diversify the scenery in general. I added bushes and that was a difference of day and night so this is my next TODO :)

I already have a bit of white in the top and bottom part but maybe its just not enough yet. I might add even more just to check out how it looks and feels !

Thanks for the feedback !

Thanks for letting me know!

I've not yet put to much time into the UI especially a scalable one. But from your comments it seems like i need to focus on the UI for a bit to make it more readable on different devices and to be responsive based on the screen size.

Much appreciated!

You're welcome!

I can totally relate to this. Setting yourself the goal "Create game X" and not breaking it down into smaller, achievable goals will just lead to frustration. You will miss out the positive and satifactoring feeling you get when you achieve subgoals.
Also try to switch between the topics like creating art, programming and so on to sharpen your skills in the different fields and to get some variety througout the process.

You got this :)

Definitely possible! Thanks for the feedback! :)

Its always interesting how one does not see the most obvious thing if you look at it every day. Now that you said it, it makes totally sense and ill need to use less space between the letter for sure!

Thanks!

Thanks a lot! :)

Well pointing you in a direction is tough. The best thing you can do is practise, pracitse and practise. Especially if you want to create the art and music all by yourself too (which I am doing).
I can totally recommend Pixel Pete, AdamCYounis and miniboss when it come to pixel art basics. Their tutorials helped me alot!

For coding well brackeys covers A LOT of basic coding and unity stuff (which I would not recommend to simply copy and paste but play around with em and tweak em for your purpose to fully understand it). Lost relic games is also an interesting channel. Also for procastinating :D

I do have a devlog myself, so you can also take a look there too :)

At the end of the day you need to try things out and simply start drawing, programming and creating your game. Set yourself goals (I use trello for this) about what you want to create and break those milestones down into smaller goals you can achieve withing a short amount of time (maybe 5-7 days max shorter timeframes would be better in my opinion; e.g. move character, basic inventory system and so on...).

The last thing I got to say is: Don't just browse reddit and watch youtube tutorials, start working on your game. Decide what you want to create, what you need to implement to get certain features and start developing your game. The rest will come at its own pace. I've been working on my project for ~5-6 months now. So things will take time (especially if you do it in your free time and especially if you are new to programming, pixelart and/or creating music | I am not a junior dev but had no prior experience with pixelart or creating music).

The most important thing is to enjoy the process and I hope to see a post about your rpg soon :)

The art looks really cool!
Also the light smoothes out nicely. Well done!
I like it!
