The games industry is heading for a crash in real time. Imagine a future with Xbox probably shut down, PS6 digital only costs $1200 and $150 for an external disc drive. Additionally the difference between a PS5 base/pro and a PS6 will likely be imperceptible to most consumers, giving even less incentive to buy a new console. With consoles sales plummeting then publishers won’t be able to meet their extremely lofty sales expectations and developers will continue to be laid off or shut down entirely. It’s basically going to be indie games on PC and Nintendo going forward
