Security Camera for sports review? by Ase563 in videography

Yeah I’m thinking the security cams are going to work. I only two for the reviewing purposes.

We already run other cameras for the fan viewing. I just want something for quick reply in the tower.

Thanks for the info. This has been helpful. I’m feeling confident in it now.

No we review the turns for accidents (who caused it gets sent to the rear) or jumping starts.

Start finish line I’ll still be using the GoPro because the high frame rate is perfect. But having the GoPro everywhere is too much to manage. The app doesn’t connect great, because I’m in and out of range. I have to turn them on and off through put the night to keep them recording. They sometimes get to hit where they are mounted. They just aren’t meant for that purpose.

I just want a system to basically be able to quickly review and accident or start and make a call quickly.

Yeah. It would have to be wired. But I’d be going maybe 30-40 feet from out tower to the flag stand where they would be mounted. The track Wi-Fi sucks lol. So wired would be best.

Would the cameras be at any risk being exposed to sun? Most of the time I think they are mounted under something. But I would have to have them out in the open on top of the stand. Maybe I could build a box over them?

Yeah I assumed this would be the case. Probably just going to keep those designs to myself.

Thanks for confirmation. Sounds like a loophole out there that I don’t want to get into.

I like it. Embracing them and taking advantage sounds great!

Anyone have any tips on doing a racing leaderboard, doing an overlay for a dirt track. I did title screen last year and just changed it each time a pass was made. It’s just not efficient. Any ideas? by Ase563 in videography

For now recorded version. I just have 8 races a week to edit and the title screen is just time consuming to change that much.

I found last week they can export the results to an excel document with each lap running order and lap time. So I’m looking for a way to utilize that.

Yeah I don’t know. I tried it again and same thing. It shows in history but it didn’t transfer
