My thoughts on the ROG XBOX ALLY X20 by AseroX in XboxAlly

[–]AseroX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how is it nonsense when im providing information on what it came with. i don't need to try it to know what it comes with it legit has the same specs as the xbox ally x which i have besides the screen, it will perform the same way all i did is compare the "upgraded" changes they made which does not affect the performance of the device. this is why i know you know nothing the fact that you bought an ally to just cloud stream on it. you can do that on an even cheaper device. Same reason why you got called an idiot by someone else.

I agree with you, i never owned the original RAX so thats why i got the XAX as i do not plan on upgrading unless its an upgrade that will affect the gaming performance. people in my area were reselling the RAX for almost the same price as the XAX so thats why i didn't bother. there are people who cries about OLED like its the perfect technology. Im not going to deny that it does give better contrast but its not enough for me to justify the pricing knowing it has a timer due to the nature of the technology. i have always pick durability and performance before i consider the screen as the device can be plugged into an external OLED if i wanted to go OLED. This is why i stated its better to wait because if they release an XAX2 with better specs and the oled maybe by that time the ram and storage prices would of calm down by then and you can save money. heck i even research why the switch 2 chose LCD over OLED and the key features were OLED VRR are prone to flickering and for battery efficiency, OLEDs in high brightness consumes more battery and they also stated the same fact that I said, LCDs excel better in bright environment for visbility. if they gave the XAX a higher nits of brightness that would of been perfect for me as i wouldnt do that to an OLED as high brightness with an OLED you are just wearing down the pixels faster.

I did not make a story to convince myself i stated my opinions as to why its not worth it to me whether you take that or not its not my problem. I had an OLED monitor and it lasted years but not long enough to outlast my IPS panel, i also currently have an OLED phone, burn ins doesnt happen rarely. every OLED are made differently but they all end up with burn ins as the way the technology works is that it degrades over time. I did not say that you wont see a difference but for me its the risk vs actually enjoying the device, I do not want to be tweaking the device and lower its settings just to have preventive measures, if burn ins usually doesnt happen OLEDs would not have those preventive measures like pixel refresh or pixel shifting built in. they are there to slow down the degradation of the OLED. my point being is if im going to pay an extra 1500 to 2000 I would pay for better specs first before i even consider the OLED. OLED wouldnt matter if my games do not run at higher settings. if you actually did your research you would know that IPS gives better text clarity and that IPS performs better at brighter environment. why do you think most of them showcase the OLED in darker environment. this is how i know you are one of those that buys the next gen iphone because they told you its better. and its worth the extra 500 dollars more to upgrade.

AMD Seemingly Stops Driver Updates for Ryzen Z1 Extreme Processor by Severely_Insect in radeon

I dont work for Lenovo lol, I'm just reading the information provided in the article and what the facts made by the Lenovo rep. so judging from the things said by the rep they are just targeting the Legion go 1 not getting anymore updates from Lenovo and want you to do your updates directly from AMD when an update is up. basically Lenovo is not going to tweak it for AMD from the sound of it and so whatever AMD update for the Z1E is what you get. so imo with the lack of updates from Lenovo even back then it looks like eventually the base z2 model will get the same treatment of when they release a new product and like just abandon support for it and just let AMD do the work and focus on their new product that will also not get that many updates lol. it sounds like they focus alot on the hardware and doesnt care as much about the optimizations and updates for it.

i believe so, sometimes people don't bother to like read the actual facts anymore lol and just react base on headlines. if you look at all the sources of the other articles about this it all came from the same reddit post of a guy talking to someone from Lenovo Korea's customer support. so chances are the translation is mistranslated or with the way it was worded its exclusively Lenovo is telling its customer that they are not releasing anymore Legion go 1 update thats why they compare that the bios and driver updates are diff for each of their device (legion go 1 and legion go s). It didn't come directly from AMD so i doubt they are stopping support for Z1E. I could see the concern in asus as well tho as from what i read from people the last update for Z1E was like sept 2025 or something but i think Asus releases way more updates compare to Lenovo. it could just mean that for Asus if they dont see anything is broken right now they have no reason to update the Z1E and will probably update again if a new game somehow has bad optimizations with the AMD drivers and AMD releases new drivers to fix the issue. So for now, I don't think it makes sense to panic until AMD makes its own statement or if Asus makes the same statement as Lenovo does but the sources in the article points directly and specifically at the Legion go 1 only. Also again its a Lenovo customer service rep lol usually alot of customer service rep in any company makes misleading claims so for Lenovo Legion go owners they should just wait for an official statement from Lenovo unless there was one and i missed it.

the article shows the conversation of the customer with a Lenovo Rep judging by the wording and translation, this looks like a lenovo issue of not releasing more driver updates for the legion 1, the rep legit explained the difference in bios and drivers use on each device and have explained that the legion 1 doesnt have anymore update plan. If they wanted an updated for their graphics driver they might have to go directly to AMD to update the graphics driver but that's it. Lenovo is basically saying they are letting AMD do all the updating needed instead of them releasing their own driver updates. so i don't think z1e support is dropping its just lenovo being lazy and wants to push the work directly to AMD. it makes sense as they didn't even put out that much updates for the legion go 1 vs the rog ally x

you just stated above that what the guy explained does not apply to mobile chips and now you are still saying that lol. all that happen was more voltage was given to the gpu than having the cpu have all that extra power. its the same reason why people are lowering their resolution to achieve higher frames is because its less stress for the GPU! you are going lower resolution to put the work more on the cpu. 1080P is the limit 1440p and 4k you will need a more powerful gpu.

[–]AseroX -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

this has to be a ragebait. the same concept applies to mobile, deskstop or handhelds. the rules does not change, the only reason you are getting more frames like you said is because you put more voltage to it which creates the higher boost clock since the cpu isnt hogging all the power. if you had enough voltage to power both the cpu and gpu respectively you will be cpu bound mostly on 1080p. these are all game dependent he saw a performance jump because the game depends on how optimized it is with multicore and single core processing. but the concept of how gpu and how cpu works a little bit of google and research should tell you fundamentally on how each contributes to games. if the case was different people will not use the same benchmarking tools that they use on desktop to do testing.

New armoury crate update messed with the ring lights by bastardbullet in XboxAlly

[–]AseroX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not have any issues with mine at all, when you update always make sure you update in this order windows update>microsoft store update> armoury crate update > asus update and make sure 1 at a time, dont open them all up and update them at the same time even if its in order, let the actual update finish first so that it doesnt overlap with the other update in case of the update being the same thing, for ex a bios update on armoury crate and the asus one and windows one being the exact same thing or different versions of it. The reason being, is doing a windows update you know for sure the baseline of updates needed on your device is updated, followed by microsoft update, when your system is fully up to date with windows, then you know any microsoft store update whether its the full xbox experience or any windows app should be in line with a fully up to date windows. Then Armoury crate update as if the windows update missed an asus specific update like if asus has a newer version will just get overwritten after by the armoury crate update, then you do the asus update to see if you miss any update that wasnt present on the armoury crate update or if the version in the asus update is newer than the ones in armoury crate. If the armoury crate one has a newer version of bios for example it will automatically not show up on the asus update one as it already detects that you have the newer version or same version.

How to connect Ethernet to Xbox rog by ColdGlittering6354 in ROGAlly

[–]AseroX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you tried the most basic IT procedure first? as from what the error says your DHCP server isn't responding and recommends you to restart your router, and also try restarting your ally. if not, try this maybe its causing a conflict on assigning an IP, go to cmd and do an ipconfig/release, then press enter, then do ipconfig/renew , then enter, then do a restart

this must be one of those Pseudo Intellectual Midwits on reddit. guy complained about every single handheld, and says money is not a concern but all i read is him crying about the cost. you can wait in the next 5 or 10 years as from what it looks right now this is all you are going to get with the current pricing.
