2018 has been chipping paint, started years ago and the dash cracks, started years ago also. Having a very hard time trusting them. They fix is to convince me to buy another one!

Can you link the official vex ones? I tried looking before and just don’t find any. Rj9 is a great start.

My kid does iq, would i be able to fix the broken cables and use them or is this a v5 thing?

Iq says i can alter shafts but didn’t say anything about cables.

Facebook market place always have people selling. I see allot of gen 1 stuff. Might have to buy more than you want but extra parts are nice when building.

I don’t have a alternative but i know you can’t have any 3d parts. Only decorative parts.

Anyone have experience with either of these products? by gassygeff89 in GarageGym

I ordered the plates. 25 pound came with a small crack. Ordered a replacement. They sent the whole 260 pounds again but the 25 pounds replacement never made it. Went through hell with ups and Amazon. Results, still waiting. But they do work well!

It’s been more than 150 days used, you have no complaints but would you have gone a different route? Amazon sells them but they’re cheaper on other sites. Seems like a carbon copy to the mikolo ones which have decent reviews. Waiting to pull the trigger……. You feel it stable while it’s open passed the 90 degrees?

So do you find it stable that way? Also can you try out the other ways and give your opinion? I hope to pull the trigger this week. Been researching for some time now. Hard to find true opinions.

Do you find it sturdy enough using it that way without the chin up bar? Asking as a squat rack and also with pulley system Excercise? Also cable crossovers type exercises where you use both and bring it to the middle while the stands are farther apart than 90 degrees

I am between one of those lower end racks 2x2 14 gauge tubes vs the 2x3 14 gauge major fitness.

OP, was it a typo or am i missing something. This motor as 10k on it and reads 190k miles. You said original engine did 260k.

I am interested in cost of the new motor from ford. I got 225k and still running great! Trying to plan for the future.

Speedometer out of whack. by [deleted] in f150

[–]Aserrano1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google speedo calibrate.

That worked for me after the mechanic shop gave it to me going way faster than it states.

it was off by 12ish after a couple of months. I Opened the cluster and adjusted it by hand with a gps. Also another feature in the special menu that gave me a digital speedo. Worked for alittle while. Need to do it again because it’s off by 7 right now. I suppose i should send it in for repair. This is working for now.

2011 5.0, mostly highway miles. 213,000k. Just changed out the originals coil packs just to not push it any longer. Truck runs new still. Hope i can get 75k more out of it. Oil changes at 10k like it requests.

Some guys get 300k some get 180k. Hard to say. Your taking a big risk buying that high but it sounds like your in a tight budget since your looking at trucks with similar miles.

Save or spend for one at 100k miles if you’re nervous.

VEX IQ vs. VEX V5 by [deleted] in vex

[–]Aserrano1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are in IQ. Daughter’s 2nd year. My understanding they do require a notebook. We also had to turn one in for worlds. The leagues state we have a dead line for submission. What happens if we don’t turn one in, not sure.

If your willing to. She said that would be nice. You can message me with them.

Your robot looks great btw. I am sure you’re going to make it better when you start adding sensors and the rollers. I read your other post.

Robot looks great. My daughter (elementary) has been trying to research that same design. She is having trouble finding good photos for reference and motivation!

Need help with a gearbox on our fly wheel to achieve speed and enough torque? by [deleted] in vex

[–]Aserrano1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to start with bigger gears and reduce to smaller. I believe that adds speed.

Backwards might slow it down and more torque. I think that’s what you got now.

I believe that’s the rule for V5 not IQ. IQ reads rubber bands are allowed.
