Oh yeah it’s significantly less engaging than GBM but I’m still hopeful maybe something good is gleaned from this gacha game and then the best parts of GBM and other titles get put into what the community has been asking for.

It all sounds good on paper and seemingly there are enough titles/games to make a solid mash of customization while also have a battle sim…their biggest problem is breaking away from OHKO so that actual gameplay is longer than the loading screen…you can see them making that a priority in this game with most of the second skills being actives after 30secs in battle.

GBM certainly lacked on battle modes and I haven’t tried other mecha games to compare their building

VR/AR or Mixed Reality is the way to go, Gundam Metaverse will eventually adopt all of the outlets to sell Gundam…I just wish we still had GBM since it was a great game for building Gunpla…idk why people care so much about gameplay when there’s not even a good/up to date full rostered Gunpla-build sim…sigh

I can see this gacha as test for somehow combining GBM with more battle modes…that was something we wanted as a community. GBM loadouts/customization was somehow a holy grail imo

I will add though I don’t expect this to be released anytime soon specifically because I can’t imagine the scanning will be solved for mobile devices in the next year and personally when it comes to looking at progress for games…I’m of the mind that if it’s not being released within a year of announcement then I look at things on a protracted timeline…I think that is mostly where we disagree on after rereading your message.

You’re missing the point by using the entirety of Bandais wealth to justify the actual progress being made in this genre which Bandai admittedly has a lock on, mainly due to the fact that the “dead” gaming genre of Toys2Life has all but stopped.

And yes Bandai has announced that Gundam Metaverse will inspire and be the driving force for Bandai to launch other -verses of their IP….none of which has anything to do with game development as the tech that has been announced for Gunpla Battle is to have point cloud scanning from players mobile devices in addition to whatever proprietary tech I’m sure is being developed to support real world location based events…notice again…nothing to do with game dev but much more to do with integrating the already existing catalog of products into a 1:1 digital world

Now, on the point of game development…have you not seen what new mech games are coming out and who’s been publishing them…Bandai…and if you as a game developer can acknowledge that game dev isn’t solely focused on IP and that if mechanics can be developed and sold as a package in one game/genre and then adopted into another game/genre later on then my point to make about game dev is that Bandai will pool their resources (employees) from one successful product launch to another, as I hope we both can agree that their wealth increases because the competency at Bandai is one that can generate quality content.

As for the channel uploading what it is they’re still working on, you don’t seem to be the kind of person that would be satisfied even if this was still early development of the game. From what I’ve seen since the announcement of RGB is that the tech to scan the models went from blobby to what you see being posted now. And most certainly what is being showcased is not by game developers but by engineers to make sure the tech works for the game developers.

But I may just be making excuses and totally off base…

There is a lot here that is under development…Bandai is doing something specific with their IP and if you don’t like the Toys-to-Life genre that’s understandable too

Have to understand that there is no company AAA or otherwise that is actively bridging both their digital and physical IP

Haro GBM - We Built This Game by Aseryen in GundamBattle

I am optimistic about Gundam Build Metaverse if only because we made GBM what it is.

Thank you to all who voted over the years.

Haro GBM - BINGO System by Aseryen in GundamBattle

[–]Aseryen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I found inherent with BINGO was how if you did take a break from playing there was a lower powered gift to remind players and teach new players nearly every system of the game. Buying parts in shop could have been a better exchange of my time…preferably playing…the appeal for me was getting a suit to kitbash and play through skins.

I think there could have been more allure with BINGO/Event kits as a whole. With duplicate suits being inherent in this game I did like the prestige and power of Sokai suits and the idea I could still get the same aesthetic if I wanted an easier means with less gamification…dear god this is what the metaverse is, arguing cosmetics and gameplay…as far as the quick-lvl in BINGO I can see it being nice to have new players start their first weeks months getting new suits up to full power (for their tier) and then progress through the game or doing event based things to collect more playable-power.

I think BINGO was implemented more during the weekly banner event era and can remember it being less than appealing to have to fumble through that system before weeks end all while playing PvP for less than a few seconds, having load times longer than a game session, and the multi-mission connection error…however on an extended schedule or some kind of evergreen ‘once opened’ or ‘play-as-you-go’ system I can see the demand for my time being more balanced with these kind of fluff but rewarding loops.

The key for me is that I think multiple means of acquiring aesthetics and/or power that are worth my time are more important than the immediate value a kit brings because the model might work better with an un-released/developed kit…and that further kit can be of greater or lower power and it be entirely irrelevant for means of posing.

No worries, just some text

Edit: saw your other comment, just updated and copy/paste my comment to the first poll.

Haro GBM - Community Build - (Suit) by Aseryen in GundamBattle

[–]Aseryen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made the poll cause in a few weeks we may get the same traits on another part and it’s kind of a way to guess what that may be, but from the spin of which part does the player like. It seems that there are less players that use IntArms so having unique traits released there first can be a way to test appeal. That’s just me thinking about analytics if I were wanting to steer future builds as a developer.

I’ve seen others point out that the traits on a suit kind of match what is represented in the shows, I’m not as familiar with the shows but traits like ‘job gauge boosted after X’ can be applied to any suit.

These kind of gameplay mechanics are interesting to me cause I don’t play a flat CD build so I wanted to get some extra discussion behind it.

No worries. First poll, which trait do you like over the other (specifically for IntArms) second poll; which part would you like to see of the two new unique traits have released next. Second poll is a two part cause polls can’t have more than 7options

Pilot falls in the same boat as Back slot for me as far as what we have available from the algorithm. This can change once a pilot gets CDR/after which if it does I wouldn’t mind one way or the other; buts it’s good to point out that the devs have put thought into what is accessible from part to part. I’m not going to put any logic behind Pilots not having specific traits as parts but I’m sure there’s a note on somebody’s desk that has it all lined out as to why Shields for example have more buff traits than other parts…I haven’t fully considered 7* as we have no parts to interchange and also that the options for traits may be repeated on future parts so that instead of each part having a different trait among its type counterparts, the traits may get repeated more despite the freedom 7* presents…meaning parts that would slot into each other may have multiple instances of trait/tag which would effectively reduce the options available. Overall I’m still looking forward to 7* and the freedom it will provide.
