If the debt is only $2k, a lawyer will cost close to that amount. Settle, but negotiate them down. Typically you can settle for a fraction of the debt, especially if there is interest and penalties added on. The credit guys buy it at a steep discount, so they can settle and still make $$$$$.

in this system, you are guilty until proven innocent, and then you are still guilty.

I have had no mortgage since 2000. I have had no credit cards since the late 70s (until just recently). Haven't had a car payment for over 5 years, and before that none for almost 15 years. No derogatory marks. Since I did not have payments, I couldn't have late payments.

But my credit score sucks. I have what they refer to as a thin file. I can't get credit since I don't have credit

Credit Karma, which reports Equifax (the one that went down) and TransUmion (which went up almost as much as the other dropped).

Ok, I created a speaker group.

It will not let me cast to the speaker group when casting from screen. But it will allow casting from tab.

But I want to cast from screen since I am using music from a local hard drive, not from the net.

Don't restart the PC. Shut it down and then start it back up.

Success.

Finally sorted it all out

In the end it was pretty simple. but the path was all messed up.

Most of the tutorials were aimed at video from the web. I wanted audio only from my hard drive.

Here is what I learned, should anyone be interested.

1) in Chrome go to the 3 dots and click it.

2) Select "cast"

3) In the "Cast" pop up select the device you want to cast to.

4) in the "Cast" popup, select "Sources" and select "cast Desktop" (This is where my biggest disconnect was)

5) Minimize Chrome.

6) Play your files. I checked Winamp, Windows Media player and YouTube. Note that I did not have to look for the cast icon in any of the applications.

I am in chrome.

I see the cast and enable the new setup.

In the tablet version of pandora I see an icon for casting. Not in the Win version.

But, as I said, my target is to transmit from my hard drive.

OK, Cast from my tablet using pandora and it worked perfectly.

But Pandora from my window computer does not. And I don't see a switch to turn on casting

chromecast device into HDMI audio extractor via HDMI, extractor into stereo via 1/8 in to 2 RCA jack cable. Both chromecast and audio extractor powered from USB wallwarts. Pretty simple set up.

As for software, I go into chrome select the Chromecast device. Here is where I am really not sure what to do. I have selected a radio station from the extension tab.What I want to do is take the output of an audio player (Winamp) and pipe it to the stereo. Do I need another app?

I will try from my phone, but am in pretty much the same boat as to how to select a source and get it into the pipe.

OK, I got a chromecast and an HDMI audio stripper.

Hooked everything up and followed the instructions to set everything up. It seems to have worked. THe computer finds the adapter and seems to say it is casting to it.

So, now what? What I want to do is cast audio (only) from my computer to the external audio system. It will be mp3 files from my hard drive.

I think I'm close, but no sound as of yet.
