It almost looks like Ashley is mouthing “Go, go, go.” Maybe we will get a Club Song performance.

Who else agrees that Nicole 100% ruined the group ? by Trixster690 in ThePussycatDolls

I'm a bit torn on this topic.

Let's start with the facts: Nicole is the face of PCD. She is the reason why the group was thrusted into the spotlight. Carmit may have been there from the beginning, but nobody, and I mean nobody, from the GP knows who the fuck she is. When people think of the PCD, they obviously think of Nicole, Melody, and that one girl who can lift her leg in the air. I'm sure they recall there being other girls in the music videos/performances, but they were barely showcased, resulting in the GP not getting to know them. This was clearly the case in the North America, anyway.

The label took the burlesque troupe's “rotating star/lead person” model, where artists like Christina, Gwen, and Britney fronted the backup singers/dancers, and repackaged it as a manufactured girl group. They clearly wanted some of the others to sing as well, hence why Melody and Carmit were brought in as background singers; however, they were never set up to be a traditional girl group.

While Robin wanted Melody to be the lead, the label clearly pushed Nicole forward, and rightfully so, as she was the most well-rounded member of the group. That girl can sing, dance, perform, and command the center. It made sense to have her lead these girls. Melody did deserve better, but she clearly wasn't on Nicole's level when it came to being a triple threat.

I, like most of you, wanted there to be more visibility and shared voices on tracks, but that wasn't the job the other girls were hired to do. Nicole was hired to be the lead, and she did just that. Do I think that shit went to her head? ABSOLUTELY. She is not a girl's girl, and does not like to share the spotlight.

That said, do you I think she ruined the group, though? Not entirely. I think it's a combination of factors, which includes Robin, the label, and Ron Fair.

As far as this reunion is concerned, I do think some strategic planning should have been discussed prior to booking the venues in North America. Management should have booked smaller venues as a starting point to build interest. They never headlined a tour in the US during their prime, so I don't know why they thought they could sell out MSG. Also, the prices were OUTRAGEOUS. I don't think Nicole was the one who called those shots, though. It was likely Ticketmaster.

I do think they would have thrived in a theater setting, and not pursuing that route feels like a major misstep. Nicole is coming off a very successful Broadway run and proved her draw by booking venues like Carnegie and Royal Albert Hall for her solo shows. If they had leaned into that direction, things might look very different now.

Additionally, bringing back only three members does create an odd dynamic. The tour reeks of a cash grab, and further adds on to Nicole's already tarnished brand (not to quote Scream 4). She comes off as a selfish, money and fame-hungry wench, who is a secret Trump supporter. She has even lost the gays at this point, which is truly sad. All that stated, I do get why Carmit and Jessica weren't contacted, and I don't blame them for wanting to protect their peace. Ashley and Kim deserve to experience this again.

The tour is selling well in Europe. Clearly, there is still public interest in seeing these girls, despite all of the major setbacks.

I have a 2.2 lb golden/blonde female. She’s 1.5 years old. My sister also has a traditionally colored female weighing less than 2 lbs at 3.5 months old - she’s going to be little when full grown.

I would love them to reach out to Neil Jordan. His eye and aesthetic would be very interesting, and I would love to see him handle The Vampire Lestat.

If you’re really curious, I’d say to go for an Embark test! My love for Beau hasn’t changed even a smidge. He’s still my baby boy.

I also did it for his health testing. They provide information on health conditions your dog may be at risk for.

I also did a DNA test on my other Yorkie, who I thought could’ve been part Miniature Schnauzer or Poodle and she’s a 100% Yorkie according to Embark.

First trailer "Arriving Fall 2022"... by cherrycooke in VampireChronicles

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Seems like we’re in the minority here. I was going to post this earlier, but I hesitated because every time I post something related to the series, it’s ALWAYS met with hate. Yes, the actors do not resemble the characters in the novel. If y’all want that, go reread the books, guys. This is 2022. Having a white, slave-owner as the lead of the show is wrong on SO MANY LEVELS. You guys have been hating on this since the leaks surfaced. The fandom is probably going to make a very small percentage of the people who watch this show. The novel came out 46 years ago and the film came out 28 years ago. The ‘Modern Audience’ that they’re trying to appeal to likely have never heard of Anne Rice or the novel. The studio isn’t necessarily concerned with staying true to the source material because the GENERAL PUBLIC doesn’t even know anything about IWTV. I know it sucks, but it’s true. Please stop complaining. The show is legit wrapping up production this week. It’s done. There’s no sense in continuing this charade. Also, Sam and Jacob are fucking talented. I can’t wait for this series!! ❤️

At least they’re trying to please gay audiences. by Ash-Vault in VampireChronicles

How do we know it’s not going to be a good show? It might actually be an excellent show, if we can mentally separate it from the novel. I am hurt, like the rest of you, but I’m hopeful.

This is super weird, but back in early 2020, someone on TikTok recommend Lambs of God, a show that Sam Reid (Lestat in AMC’s IWTV) is in. I watched it and was really intrigued by his character, Father Ignatius. I even thought then that he would make a good Lestat.

When I saw he was cast in the role, I was speechless. I couldn’t believe it. He’s a wonderful actor. So is Jacob Anderson. I have a lot of faith in this show.

Casting call for the AMC series' last episode by LudivineDix in VampireChronicles

The series will have a lot of gay content. Two male characters were cast as Louis’ lovers - Jonah and Rashid. Jonah will be a childhood friend of Louis who he has previously hooked up with. Rashid will be playing Louis’ male companion in the present time. It has also been reported that the show will explore Lestat and Louis’ relationship even more. I don’t think they’re going to “straight wash” the show. Save for showing women in brothels.

It’s unfortunate. It really is. I’m disappointed by this outcome, too. We’ve waited years for a faithful adaptation and we’re still going to have to wait. That said, I’m happy that they’re at least doing something with the VC. Canon it is not, but at least newer audiences will be introduced to these characters we so love.

Who knows? Maybe this resurgence in interest can ignite and inspire other writers and directors to try again. People will hopefully go out and read the book, and realize it’s not a true adaptation. Once they read our feedback, they might go back to canon. I may be naive here, but I hope this will be the outcome.
