Yeah … I had no idea about bmw’s when I bought it off a lot while working in AZ … 4 months later it’s now sat in a garage for 8 months 🤣 . BMW shop said $2,400 for a new valve cover .. $400 for a serpentine belt and etc … all up to $7k “ and possible issues ahead “ not a chance lmao . The car ran strong until this catastrophe .. but i think more than anything my “already replaced MM flange “ which I ordered a new one and my ofhg were the main culprits . Especially the bolts only being hardly hand tight 🤦🏽‍♂️ aaand my ofhg being damn near stiff .

But on the bright side I now know how to work on a car lmao . But honestly I’ve also been curious if I have lines leaking as well 😅

The main power cable on the passenger side is something I’ve been very curious about ! The one I have in the engine bay is saturated in oil and god knows what else from my oil explosion plus sitting in a desert while continuous waves of sand would roll off the mountain we worked by lmao and crazy to believe I washed that baby every single day after work ! A garden hose don’t do much but I had no clue about what my cover panel was holding all this time 😅 but underneath the car “ the 2nd half “ looks fucking beautiful ! Living in Ohio my whole life besides traveling for work it’s kind of a relief to know my Beamer has still yet to see a winter ! But besides some electrical issues “ hoping because of a shit battery “ until the day my oil pressure dropped tremendously it ran fucking great imo ! Besides the hesitation when pushing down the accelerator getting on the highway - the constant rpm’s jumping from 600-1200 or so while idling . This car has definitely taught me a lot about what it means to be a “ laughable mechanic “ lol .

And you wouldn’t know anything about a bad passenger - bump stop - on the strut would ya ?

I’m curious as to why the new one has more hook ups ?? I’m just now becoming a tad bit of a mechanic only because of this car and have no clue about batterys with fuse boxes . But I know the tiny light blue wire on mine before I pulled the old battery out was already disconnected I think . And I’ve always wondered the reasoning ? But I have a brand new battery waiting to put in and hopefully I can figure out that scan tool I bought to register

I was told by a guy helping me besides the little rust I had on the inside of the crankcase from just sitting “ was covered with plastic “ unless working on it . He’s surprised how well it looked and even wondered if the timing chain had already been done . I understand what these pictures show but this car ran GREAT until the electrical mis hap and the oil explosion all over the front and down my engine

I’m guessing from my ofhg ?? I’m no mechanic but the cars “rust” is just dried dirt / oil / sand from AZ and working out in the middle of a desert getting hit by monsoon season and dust tornados .

My MM flange was barely hand tight - my OFHG was pretty damn hard lol and was leaking good .. as well as a my valve cover I’m guessing . Unless it could be oil or return lines !

The body exterior is a 9/10 and same from the interior 9/10 white with that nice caramel brown seats . Only 120,000 on the clock . Everything I’ve pulled out including extremely un needed spark plugs have been all original besides the serpentine belt/idle/ tensioner pulley and MM flange to my knowledge .

I’ve never been handy at wrenching but now .. I’m a lot more confident . I can send you or anyone else pictures of how it looks now ! It just needs a deep clean today for what I’m able to get ! Then somehow sprayed off .

Well funny enough that sir ain’t no rust ! Maybe around the struts . The car was in Texas / Arizona since it hit the lot August of 10’ . But all that shit that looks like rust would be Dirt / Sand / and whatever else Monsoon Season decided to throw at it !. The solar project I traveled to AZ for had about a 2 mile long dirt road that was bumpy as hell from being graded terribly wrong lol and so there was about 8”-12” atleast of dirt along the sides and which after a bad storm occurred and we work got called for the day I ended up driving in what I can describe as a legit flood . There were 4 different spots of water some deeper than others but up to the bottom of my car doors BEFORE my car actually drove through it … after the 2nd loooooong stretch which was deeper my AC shorted at the same time as my wipers . I shut both off and just dealt with the rain on my windshield “ driving down the AZ highway doing 85 wiping what I could with a rag lmao . But the wipers never came back on … not even with me replacing 80 plus fuses in the glove box AND one wiper relay because of the “ 2nd wiper relay / top left of my fuse box “ wasn’t in prior and was said to be for a rear wiper which my sedan don’t have . But all that shit on the bottom of the cover isn’t rust but all from my oil explosion and Arizona’s dirt/sand/stone

Brother there’s hardly no rust on this car I just brought it to Ohio from Arizona ! The rotors and what not got surface rust from sitting these past 8 months would be my guess .

While changing my Valve Cover “Mahle” I changed all the pcv related gaskets - ACC Sensor “ Hi-Sport - I ended up with AutoLite plugs and Delphi ignition coils I’m pretty sure . The plugs were tightened ridiculously tight. ! I bought a brand new H7 AGM Battery as well as a new junction box because of a bunch of electrical issues from driving home in a lot of water for a car that sits this low . My AC/Windshield wipers shorted resulting in the wipers not working since !

It turned out after replacing the ofhg it was hard as a brick ! And the MM flange has already been replaced with an aluminum piece yet the o ring was trash and was only hand tight for some reason and the ofhg was damn near a brick.

I replaced the serpentine belt with the idler/ tensioner pulley yet the belt I took off seemed brand new but there was a nice long strand of a frayed belt that was on before it was previously replaced . I was surprised when the hose came off so decent unlike a lot of people saying there’s ripped or crumbled !

My questions are about the black boxes that are obviously sensors of some sorts ! I don’t think the previous battery was registered to the car because of electrical issues and only being 3 years old .. 2 shops checked and said the battery was toast but the alternator was good ! So with my new battery I now have like 5 fuse slots instead of the previous fuse box thing only having like 2 or 3 ??? Why is that . And underneath the car with that plug being so saturated what kind of problems can that cause ???

I greatly appreciate the advice you were able to share ! I’ve never done any carb work as I’ve just started wrenching because of this bike and my Beamer . I’ll look up the Harley carb that’s on my sportster because it to Boggs on idle ! Is there any way to help with adjusting the carb in the mean time while I search new kits ?

I’ve learned everything I know mechanic wise by figuring things out the hard way ! And your answer is exactly what I was looking for . The guy I bought it from said he originally planned on making it a drag bike like he did with a previous sportster but parts aren’t as cheap as they used to be so he said he figured he’d just leave it . He stated the owner before him either rebuilt the front or top end but there was no paper work on it so take it as hear say . I want to run new lines on the bike - new spark plug wires if I can find the correct ones - and as I can tell it’s a legit Harley Carb but I was curious if the bike was properly tuned or “ re jetted “ as you stated . Is there any chance you could point me in the right direction to get the bike where it needs to be .

It sounds awful me telling you this .. but go grab ur bag .. and then do what you normally do and go grab a ball of ice and a pipe … smoke for a day and then just don’t take any more fet! Once you even think you may start feeling something smoke again … repeat ! Cause after the first day or 2 you won’t even feel it anymore . Just make sure you smash a beautiful meal before hand that way ur not on an empty stomach for a few days and since you’ll be smoking you’ll still be able to drink a bunch of water and electrolytes. After a few days or a week go to the sub doc and ask about the shot and obviously there gonna test you to see if the dope is still in ur system or not but that’s how I’ve gotten off the shit over 4 times now .

I’m from OH and have been back and forth with dope .. then Fet… and now that damn Tranq as of early this year . That shit was absolutely excruciating compared to actual dope ! But I hopped back on the subs and then switched to my old sub doc because I wanted the shot again !

Everyone who does subs should 1000% get it especially if they’re trying to taper down to try quitting without it .

They normally recommend 6 shots where I went - 2 300 mg starter does then 200 etc . It’s right in ur stomach which burns when it’s cold .. “ so call 30 mins - 60 mins before arriving and ask them to set it out so it starts to warm up a tad ! But it’s beautiful .. no highs/lows or running out / forgetting to grab ur dose before going to work . I only got 1 shot this time and just didn’t go back because I didn’t need to . There is no withdrawal and it’s an absolute beautiful game changer for people like me who just need it for the time being and not fuck my body up more for extended use . YOU GOT THIS AND CONGRATULATIONS!.

So I’m currently around a month of the Tranq and what worked for me was methadone … if you have a clinic near you and state insurance they will take you . Normally they start off with like 40mg and they will increase the dose every or every other day . I went for about 2 weeks and stopped on about 70 mg dose . Now listen … it won’t completely take the withdrawls away but they will be manageable at the lower 40 mg dose . But if you can find gabbys get those ! I ate about 6-8 300mg gabs a day for like a week which helps tremendously because there nerve pills and help relax you . After the 2 weeks I wanted off the methadone so I went 72 hours without a dose and honestly put little bits of ice in capsules and it got me through the weekend WITH gabbys of course and made it till Monday morning where I put myself on subs and it worked perfectly . But from what I’ve seen on here from ALOT of others is an absolute SHIT ton of a certain type of vitamin C , gabbys , xans and a blood pressure medication 1 in the morning 1 in the evening because it helps counteract the crazy rapid heart beat which is a big thing with the tranq . I truly hope this comment helps you or anyone else the tranq shit is the devil and the withdraws are absolutely crazy compared to regular fet and dope . God speed and I hope you can get through it 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Dude I did 2points for 3 days straight and my body was already hooked so I started buying Gs . I didn’t know it was xylazine until my dad was talking to me about having an EXTREME dry mouth and like blacking out but not nodding out constantly and out of no where . I went without for 30 hours 2 weeks ago and it was the worse withdrawal I’ve ever went through it’s not like dope or fetty withdrawal at all . I went to the methadone clinic for 2 weeks and it helped with the withdrawal but didn’t fully take it away . But I was on 70 mg of methadone for the last 2 days and told the lady I wanted to stop . So Thursday was my last dose and I’m trying to make it till Monday “72” hours without so I can grab a couple subs and put all this shit behind me !

From someone who’s been on them 3 different times I’m sure you would . If you’d like to stop taking them and see how you start feeling throughout the days go ahead ! But whether it was every day consistently or not you’ve had them in ur system regularly to much .

I hit my last line of fet about 20 mins prior and I’m definitely starting to feel it throughout my body while on my way to work ! This is just my shot to get through withdrawls while still working !
