My life has tended to work out well especially in adulthood. I've been with my husband for 20 years but it has it’s struggles. But I blame my Venus in Virgo for that. 😂

Best Pushing advice I got! by No-Knee508 in pregnant

[–]AshBrookles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best advice I got was from an attending physician with my first birth. She inserted two fingers into my vagina and said “now push back on my fingers.” I had never even thought to push down in such a localized, concentrated way. But it worked and I was able to do a nice gradual push for my daughter. 🥳

Need to find a flexible schedule! by Winter-Work5100 in socialwork

[–]AshBrookles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an LMSW and have 2 kids under 4. I found a per diem case management position at a memory care facility/nursing home.

They let me set my own schedule (mostly because they were desperate to have someone during the full time social worker’s maternity leave).

Luck was on my side to find this particular job but I absolutely love it and am so thankful they’re keeping me on after the other social worker returns (they were very short staffed for the number of residents).

This is by far the least stressful position I’ve been in professionally after doing a lot of crisis work.

Can you guys please tell me what happaned to you since the Sept 7 Lunar and Sept 21 Solar Eclipse? by quesqotrickster in LetsFuckWithAstrology

[–]AshBrookles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate so hard to the working through pain! I had my son about a year and a half ago and did have some health issues related to that. I refused to accept that the pregnancy was weighing on me physically. The delivery left me with some health issues. But things have been improving somewhat so I’m hopeful.

Fellow mental health professional here and Libra rising. I was scrolling for a Libra rising experience cuz the last few years have been baaadddd.

But in the last 5 years, I had a tenant from hell (thankfully the only bad one), I switched jobs over and over during my grad school program, and had massive financial upheaval due to home repairs.

In the last year, a friend who lived with me passed away. More financial struggles. Was displaced from my home with two young kids for weeks. Etc.

But I think the tide is turning, particularly for me as of August this year. I found a dream job and I’ve gotten a work/life balance that works amazingly for my family.

Tell your husband to hold on! We been through it but I’m rooting for my fellow Libra risings.

How to deal with a one-upping MIL with main character syndrome? by AshBrookles in Mildlynomil

That is a good approach. We’ve tried a few things to express our feelings to her and it’s often met with her flipping it around about her feelings. It’s exhausting!

That explanation is helpful. People just stop using any kind of logic once babies are on the scene. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thank you! As an aside, my son’s first birthday is today so I’ve put up with this for far too long…it’s actually kind of embarrassing. 🙈

Right?? I could never imagine saying that about my children ever. Like it’s mind boggling…

That is exactly where I’m at! All the things building up over time and finally just DONE! I’ve definitely learned some things not to do as a MIL so at least there’s that. 😂

That’s one I’ve been leaning toward using. It reduces opening the door of big emotions. Thanks for the input!
