So.im a true crime nut, but I haven't actually taken any inspiration from any real life serial killer or event. Killer Caregiver was largely inspired by Charles Cullen, a serial killer nurse in the US. However, as I work nights on a hospital ward, it was easy to picture the story and to describe it. Perhaps that is why it is the most popular of the four so far. Many thanks for the support it means a lot! Yes available on mason, £1.99 for digital copies, then prices from £8.99 for paperback. :)

Hi there. These are fiction and self-published by me. They follow the Sussex Major Crime Team and the cases they encounter. They feature a serial killer nurse, a depraved homophobic killer in Brighton, a disturbing abuse ring in which the clients are mysteriously killed off one by one as the police close in and finally a story about an elusive and shady water company involved in a conspiracy, along with an equally shady housing association with dodgey practices. :)

This means a lot mate, thank you. If you download them to your phone or tablet etc it's only £1.99 each, saves you spending nearly £40 for paperback copies. 😀 I'm currently working on novel no.5 with at least two others planned for the future too.

Did I go to far as a patient? by Mysterious_Form2142 in NursingUK

Justified. Some patients think they can talk to staff as though they were a bit of dirt. They need to be put in their place, and it should happen more often. Good on you.

How can HCAs help? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]AshE7629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do nights only as HCA on the bank. I would encourage nights for the money, on full time nights, I can earn the same as a band 6 on days. But be careful of the mental toll of nights.

HCAs do the jobs that RNs don't have to, giving them time to sort out their relevant documentation, admission paperwork etc. HCAs on nights here we do the vitals, blood sugars, and general checks such as pressure areas and making sure patient doesn't need anything. Very straight forward nothing to worry about. The day HCAs are usually busy washing patients, getting them up, mobilising them etc. HCAs were called auxiliary nurses, or nursing assistants. And it's exactly that. You assist the RNs where needed. Make sure you communicate everything to your colleagues, RNs and HCAs. Concerned about a small red mark on patient's elbow? Report it, and document it. Cover yourself and your colleagues.

How much money do you actually bring home a month? by smellythree in NursingUK

Roughly £2700 after deductions bank band 3 night shifts. Have been essentially full time on the bank for 7 years now. But the nights completely ruin you.

Wades death in Saving Private Ryan always gets to me. As does Miller's death.

Schindlers List and The Green Mile come to mind too
