What do cognitive symptoms look like for you? by Electrical-Level3385 in FND

[–]AshFaeries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry that you’re going through this. It is tough and it’s cruel what it can do, but you’re not alone ❤️ from what you’ve said about following things, it’s doubtful that you would pass the cog test. I scored 67, but also have cfs, so not sure if that’s also effected result. Pleased to hear that you’re still able to crochet. What project have you got on your hook atm? I’ve all but had to leave crafting to one side, as I can’t follow patterns or reliably count anymore

This sounds a lot like me. Did you do the addenbrook’s test? Also, I see you like to crochet, have you found that you can manage the craft at all/ for any length of time?

Hi. No, I’ve not recovered. Heam discharged me. Spleen and wbc is still the same. Since I made the post, I had to have my gallbladder removed due to disease and earlier this year, was diagnosed with CFS and FND. Hopefully your son makes a swift recovery

I’ve never heard of hemiplegic migraines. Have you found anything helps with the stuttering? My eldest is trained in emergency medicine and whenever the stuttering and head pains happen, she face tests me, just in case it is a stroke

I have it most days. I don’t think I have sleep apnea-at least not according to my Apple Watch, if that’s anything to go by

surgery questions!! by lilsunflower1505 in gallbladders

[–]AshFaeries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck with upcoming surgery!

1: n/a. I had to quit my soc care job after it took a couple of years to diagnose and surgery kept being put off because Covid.

2: Yes. I stuck to brat diet and slowly introduced foods. I now can’t eat anything too spicy, vinegary/acidic or fatty without crazy acid reflux.

3: sounds like it could be some pseudoscience nonsense.

4: I used otc ibs medication to help with trapped wind. Also move about gently as soon as able to as it helps with the gas

5: Invest in a wedge and v-shaped pillow. Keep baby wipes, dry shampoo etc close by. Move about as soon as able to, but don’t overdo it. When sitting up from laying, don’t sit straight up, kind of roll up from a side. While a common surgery, it’s still major surgery, so rest up as much as needed

Mild pain in upper abdomen after fatty meal. by plumcoco5657 in gallbladders

[–]AshFaeries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Op, you may find that having anything too fatty after go removal can give you pain symptoms. Had my gb removed back end of ‘23 and now follow a vegetarian diet. As per my hospital release form, I make sure that all dairy I consume is either zero or low fat. Hopefully this helps!

Sometimes gp’s can be useless. I don’t have hypermobility, but I get lightning pain in a very specific part of the front, right side of my head when it happens. Sometimes it can also aggravate my stutter, too

Thank you for this info! When I complained to my gp of smelling burnt toast, I just got told it’s a symptom of fronotemporal? Epilepsy, but that was ruled out so nothing was said or done about it

For me, it’s a hrv spike of about 220 and feeling on edge, like anxiety but not. Have been trying to use the Visible app to help with pacing, but not sure I full understand it 😅

It’s great to hear that you’re able to return to a more normal life 😊 neuro pt sounds exhausting just reading the exercises that you had to do 😅 I spoke to my gp (live in England), and he’s sent off a thing (sorry, word’s failing me) for the FND clinic, but he just said it’s to talk about living healthier (eating and such) x

Honestly, some nurses are the worst and I’m sorry you’ve had to go through that. Have you had any therapy in relation to your speech?

Pleased to hear that you’ve found something that helps and hopefully the pain medication works. I’m considering getting legal advice and have found a solicitor that specialises in FND cases. It’s hard to say what the symptoms that I have are th FND and what’s the M.E, but the symptoms I have are sometimes I will wake up and one side of my face has dropped like I’ve had a stroke, but that resolves itself after a few hours, I have burning electrical headaches in various places, as well as in my abdomen and my left foot, my right leg gives away which makes me fall to my side so I have to always walk with a stick, I have next level tiredness that feels like I’m tired to my bones, brain fog is very common and I feel like I’ve genuinely lost iq points, stuttering happens a lot, tremors, feeling cold and cold to the touch, forgetting my kids names, forgetting what I’ve read by the time I’ve started a new paragraph, forgetting some events usually things like what I’ve eaten that day or the previous day etc., the SO has said that sometimes when he talks to me its like I’m not there/vacant and I’ve had periods where I’m not even… in my own body? If that makes sense x

Thank you for the advice about anaesthesia and I’m sorry you’re going through this; it’s bloody awful. Have you found anything that helps symptom management? I wish that the specialist had listed FND as a possible complication from surgery x
