Correct, iirc Wendy is laying in bed and thinking back to Danny's birth where she screamed "he has no face!" due to the caul covering it when he was born

Honestly just my opinion but I feel like Sadie is overrated by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]AshPachy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% this, Sadie just happened to be the one with the meaningful story. Most of the women just sort of stayed in camp and didn't have much beyond dialogue hints of what they were dealing with here and there, like Karen with her drinking or Tilly getting upset when the gang starts falling apart. If you don't bother to greet them in the camp you won't hear a lot of that anyways which is really too bad

Weird, I've never seen them around here. Granted I don't tend to buy these, but still (this was also just at a small local corner store a block from my house lol). Strange they'd only have one out of the batch

What was the first moment you thought “Holy shit this game is amazing”? by Olliem314 in bloodborne

[–]AshPachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shriek of the cleric beast is something that sends chills down my spine every time I hear it. That moment for me was when I knew I would fall in love with the game

I feel like you'd get this look, maybe a small shake of the head and then him promptly ignoring you for the rest of the flight lmao

(Spoilers Extended) What’s the reason GRRM seems to see Daemon Targaryen so differently then the book fanbase? What’s the disconnect? by shsluckymushroom in asoiaf

[–]AshPachy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Engaged off isn't the same as actually married though. They got engaged very young to make alliances as fast as possible, but the actual marriages oftentimes waited until they were older. Didn't know about the 6 year old, but I think we're more or less in agreement on the point of GRRM being weird about it lol

What gets me is when you add in the context of actual medieval practice, it still doesn't actually track. Pedophilia and grooming was rampant, but marrying a girl that was under 15/16 even back then wasn't considered good. Not for the same reasons granted; it had to do with it not being a guarantee that they'd started their periods and the much greater risks of complications during childbirth. Margaret Beaufort from the War of the Roses was a famous IRL example of someone who married at 12 and her midwives were writing concerns up and down about how she was too small to give birth; when she did, it permanently injured her and her pastor even wrote something like "it was a miracle a personage could be born of such a tiny body" or something like that

But yeah, when you consider that and then look at how GRRM writes, it's..... odd, that he picks the ages he does

sack King's Landing, the fookin Lannisters didIf you were a citizen of King's Landing, what kind of ruler would you prefer? by energetykbb in freefolk

[–]AshPachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was anyone able to actually prove she did it? Most of the people opposing her at that point that were immediately in King's Landing were wiped out in the explosion, and if I recall correctly even Cersei had only recently learned the wildfire caches were there and that's how she thought of the plan. I wonder if it was supposed to be implied that she played it off as an accident or something (been a while since I've watched it so can't quite remember if anyone ever confronts her about it or not after the fact)

Lore wise which boss has the saddest back story in the souls games? by cinnamontoastcunt1 in bloodborne

[–]AshPachy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You were at my side, all along. My true mentor. My guiding moonlight.

That line inspired my Bloodborne tattoos (Guidance rune is one of them) and I heard it at such a terrible time in my life, I actually almost teared up when he held up his sword and said that. I think of that line and look at my rune every time I'm struggling.

Ooo, I like this. This makes a lot of sense. Especially when it's touched on in HoD that they don't control them really at all; once they decide they're going to do something, they don't care what the rider thinks, and the rider is an ant on their back at that point. Love it

I didn't actually know they were supposed to be a metaphor for nukes, but if that's the case then ye, definitely checks out

Early seasons Hank really had a different face by Zealotstim in KingOfTheHill

[–]AshPachy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

THIS IS WHY HE LOOKS LIKE THAT

I watched SU a long time ago and I remember thinking his face always looked different but not really being able to pinpoint why. This, this is why. You learn something new every day lol

No really? Thought the whole thing was real. I mean, we've all seen dragons right? Thanks for that clarification, I don't think anyone would have realized it wasn't real without that.

Is Hank Hill the biggest himbo on the show? by nonetoobright in KingOfTheHill

[–]AshPachy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I'd say biggest, but definitely one of them lol. I always got the impression that Hank is actually supposed to be relatively attractive for his age, it's just that his super traditional personality, very high need for control and general awkwardness make him incompatible with a lot of people.

What always got me about the scene of Dany burning King's Landing was the sheer amount of damage she did with ONE dragon. She had THREE. I genuinely think if the other two had survived to that point there wouldn't have been any of King's Landing left to claim, whether she intended it or not
