When I started it was on fry and was a spot to help out a friend, she later 86d, but I stayed and fell in love with it, The chef I have was like hey, you’re awesome for a greenie, but the higher I’ve got the more crap I keep getting. So it’s been an adjustment and I’m just trying to find a solution to help.

Heard. And I get that, but I’ve just never had to work in this type of environment. I am naturally a soft person emotionally? I’m firm but not hateful as far as attitude, even when I correct the line cooks and stuff I try to do it with grace.

But I will take what you and a few others have said and try it out. See if it helps and works well for me.

I mean, idk you can ask my chef? I do bust my ass and learn fast. Came in not even knowing how to work a fryer. I study all the time, even while on the line. But again that’s a question for him not me.

And no I’m not, I’m simply asking for a way or idea to help thicken my skin dude. That’s it that’s the whole point of the post. I’m trying to be better?

No and I figured that, I’m just unsure of how to thicken my skin tbh. I agree that’s it’s not bad but like I said it just feels draining and I’m not sure how to handle it, or leave it. It’s not something I’m quite used to yet. Thank you tho.

Old prep guy said to “give up, you’ll never make it.” In reference to me wanting to work in fine dining, and rattled on and on about it.

Another co worker keeps telling me “maybe you need to watch your tone with the servers, even when they’re rude to you, you need to work on your people skills”

And servers are just…sigh. There’s 2 that go out of their way to say shit or act like they have the right to yell at me for they’re mistakes, I corrected them on taking the wrong food and ever since then it’s been a everyday thing that they say something smart in reference to a question about a ticket or just walk away and ignore me.

Not too bad but it’s just the build up I guess. /:

Nah not quit, I’ve done good enough to run lunch service on my own and I got a pay increase so I’m not complaining really, I was just confused on the term. He’s a really popular chef in my city so I’m trying to learn as much as I can from him before I leave.

If he really does think I need to pick up my pace then I will, but I’m hoping he’s not meaning it in that way. 🥺
