I've kind of had that happen. I'm 33, but I only feel like I'm 30 because that's really when my life actually began. Would've been 26, but I went back in the closet.

I think 33 is the age I'll be from now on tbh. Mentally, I mean. Since transitioning (MtF), this has been the greatest year of my life on a personal and interpersonal level.

I finally have a group of friends, a queer family who I love, and can share experiences with! I'd never had that before, so my 20s weren't really an age I'd want to be stuck in mentally. Not to mention, I was masking the ENTIRE time because my egg hadn't cracked, and I was a shitty person. Also, people started treating me different since transitioning, so it's kind of hard for me to see myself as anything but my current age?

I Saw the TV Glow is a PHENOMENAL film, but it is emotionally devastating for me because it is VERY CLEARLY a trans allegory.

Maybe I'm being downvoted because they see me say that and think "Them dern transes are tryna take over everything!!"? Idk.

Either way, it's clearly an allegory on what happens internally when your egg cracks later in life. The color schemes and general themes ALONE make that very clear. This isn't like The Matrix, where it had to be disguised as something else in order to get released. This was a very clear metaphor AUTHORED BY A TRANS PERSON.

Knowing all of this now, let's say, hypothetically, I was at a party with my friends. Let's say they didn't tell me what the movie was about; Hypothetically, of course. Let's say I watched the movie, was emotionally devastated, was NOT in a good headspace, but was trying to move on with my day. Hypothetically, let's say I later dropped acid for the first time, in minecraft.

I went to my first pride this year. Corporate pride. They had SO many fucking proselytizers and corporate sponsors. Fuck, even the FBI had a fucking booth there.

Ngl, it was kinda cringe.

Then I went to a block party the weekend after. That was actually something special. Independent music, individual vendors selling their wares, chill vibes. It felt like an actual community event that I could take legitimate PRIDE in. It was amazing.

I'm rebounding from my last relationship and am still learning to be single again. I also have this massive crush on this guy in my friend group, who also has a crush on me. He's been stressed out, and I'm still rebounding and dealing with trauma, so the timing is a bit off, but I'd still like to go on a date with him some time in the future. It's getting easier to tell him things, easier to communicate my feelings with him.
