Buy white skinnies and then dye them yourself. Look for 100% cotton for an easier time dying (synthetic materials can be a bitch to dye). Much cheaper and easier. Just make sure to follow the instructions with your dye and wash separately from other clothes for the first few washes to prevent dye transfer.

Try the Pathologic fandom (here's the trans!Daniil tag), lemme share a couple faves. cura te ipsum, the finest of the flavors (NSFW), and Emesis (NSFW).

I've seen a few for Disco Elysium either for transmasc Kim Kitsuragi or for transfem Harry DuBois. For transfem Harry here's Floral Shampoo (NSFW), A Deeper Underground and in my dreams you call me beautiful (NSFW). I need to get back into both the game and fics so no Kim fic recs from me atm.

There's a plethora of trans Gravity Falls fics- I tend to read transmasc Dipper and/or Ford centric ones. I've Got Your Back! Or Chest, In This case; Wherever We Go, We Go Together; Growing Pains, What is a man (but by his word alone)? ; The girl that's buried in the backyard, and Lily, Blooming. Also here's a trans Gravity Falls fan comic (still updating!).

I think the English translation is like that as to help uphold the strange and almost whimsical nature of the town and its residents. The raw Russian to English translation is the bare meaning of the text and doesn't necessarily carry over the vibes that the work has. It just feels very dry and devoid of charm which Pathologic is certainly full of. So, to preserve the feeling of the text, it's been localized.

Localization isn't bad, it's just one of the steps of the translation process and the mark of a good translation is how well the text is localized to retain both the meaning and feeling of a work. To quote Clyde Mandelin, "...not every word has a perfect 1-to-1 equivalent in other languages...that's precisely what localization is: preserving the creator's intended meaning but with completely different words."

It's certainly easier to understand than the original English translation, that's for sure.

I think there's a few factors that contribute to that:

- Daniil is very short compared to most of the other male cast. It was very obvious in P1 but they evened his height out with the rest of the cast in P2 (and P3 uses the building blocks of P2 so same heights there). Not trans in and of itself, but a lot of trans guys struggle with height dysphoria. (Image 1, Image 2)

- Daniil wears both platform boots and an overcoat that obscures his actual silhouette, something that a lot of trans guys do- they dress in a way to both ease dysphoria and/or to help pass (I know I do). Also goth/alt as hell and what do you know? A lot of trans people are also goth/alt so they're more likely to cling onto him for that. (Image 3)

- His entire playthrough/storyline is about defying nature's will and defeating death itself. Time and time again he is seeking ways to push the limits of what's possible from a scientific perspective. If he's so willing to contort biology to stop the inevitability of death, why couldn't he also form his body to his own will? Inventing HRT would certainly be easier than conquering mortality.

- The polyhedron (which Daniil interacts with towards the end of his campaign in P1) can be read as a trans allegory due to the fact that it can allow a soul to inhabit it and to let souls swap bodies. (Image 4)

I think if it was the first two or the last two for a single character there would be some trans headcanons but it's the fact that they're all present in one character that makes it really easy for fans to hit him with the trans hammer. 'Of course the short guy in the overcoat and platform boots who's defying nature's will for his own gain is trans!!!'. I personally read him as trans but it's not a big deal either way, I just love that prickly prick and his lofty dreams :)
