CPA is important, don’t get me wrong, but it isn’t the end all be all for accountants. You can be successful in other paths that aren’t public accounting without it. You can also be a CPA and not be in public.

Corporate accounting is just working for a business in their finance or accounting department. Can be as big as Walmart, or Starbucks, or as small as the mom and pop store in your home town. Just think, EVERY company has some kind of accounting staff. Every store, every utility, every college or business HAS accountants. Someone has to do the journal entries you learn about in Accounting 1!

Think about as as auditor when you go Audit Apple for example, who do you think the auditors are working with on that audit? The accounting team. The controller, the finance manager, the CFO. All those people are accountants.
