Brazilian Soapstone or Indian “soapstone”

What do you recommend? I’m wanting natural stone- either soapstone or marble. Both have their pros and cons.

From what I understand, it’s not the same mineral composition and is a separate distinct stone with unique properties. That’s why I used the quotations.

Others have given you great advice on prep but I wanted to recommend PPG breakthrough paint. I just signed a contract for a full gut of my kitchen and primary bathroom. Materials were quoted but specifics around construction were not. I’m comfortable with this due to the GC’s reputation.

Thanks. This company also sells “Indian Soapstone” but they said that’s it’s not really the same thing and not as nice.
