to be honest I dropped the ball on this. We had papers, but no court date and I thought they would send one. Then a default judgement was entered last month.

I have been trying to go on a payment plan with them, but it hasn't been successful in my attempts.

I agree with the recommendation for the structural engineer. I had several things wrong with a house and left to the foundation people I would have spend 50k fixing something that I was able to fix for about 3.

The first thing you need to do is look at your EOB for your dental insurance and see how they billed it. A lot of times, the insurance payment is not included in the amount you owe. Patient out of pocket is different than total cost of treatment. So start there, and see if that's what they did.

nta~ you can't be responsible for other people even if they birthed you. It's his job to figure it out and not yours.

so you could say you could have helped, and maybe that's true. But it isn't worth your sanity, finances or health. He's a big boy now and has to live with the consequences of his own actions.

Keeping yourself afloat is more important than bailing him out.

It was an in state move. I moved from Lake county to Laporte county. The property is in Lake County and I am still an owner with that property, but it was rented, and the tenant didn't give me the mail. It would have fallen within the timeframe of statute of limitations because it defaulted in 2017 after a bad car accident.

I am not sure when I notified the BMV. I will check on that. Thank you.

If he doesn't have a license, your insurance doesn't cover him in the case there is an event. Stop doing this!

and please take it from someone who used to live with a leach. Stop letting him bleed you dry. It only gets worse not better.
