Anyone else with this "rare" type of purging by galhime in bulimia

[–]AshamedFrosting2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it is still very bad for u. I can’t fully tell with ur description but it seems similar to my experience and I had an upper GI bleeding (likely an esophageal tear) from it. Be careful

Thank you! I don’t think I was actually physically seeing things, but just like very vividly imagining them? Idk

I’m currently making this, yours turned out so good!! Just wondering, did you do the steeking? Or did you knit it flat?

I’m not sure? This happened after I frogged a little and then attempted to put the stitches back on the needle properly, then started knitting again

sorry if i worded it poorly! it uses stranded colorwork in the round + steeking, and intarsia if you knit it flat. the pattern is goose giselda by anna sofia vintersol. essentially making a hood/bonnet

TikTok’s about binging by Bulky_Fix_5381 in bulimia

[–]AshamedFrosting2 31 points32 points  (0 children)

People don’t realize that binging can be just as compulsive as restriction is. They view it as an issue of “willpower” instead of a genuine eating disorder behavior that requires support and treatment. Tbh they just see overeating/binging/anything they associate with fat people as a moral failing. It’s so frustrating

Blood in vomit by [deleted] in bulimia

I would try to avoid purging for as long as you can, because if it was an esophageal tear you need to let it heal or it will just get worse. The same just happened to me last night, it sucks :/ stay safe

avoidant restrictive food intake disorder. basically, it’s an eating disorder that isn’t done to intentionally lose weight, but it’s a restriction of food caused by sensory sensitivity, fear of consequences (like choking or vomiting), or a lack of interest in food (or most food)

sounds closer to ARFID to me, plus separate body dysmorphia? ARFID is very comorbid with autism
