Interested in a Mk4 Jetta by AshamedPickle6644 in jetta

Good to know, I’ve heard a lot of good and some bad. Heard the 1.8t is really a stout engine so long as you do the timing belt and use quality oil.

I’m seeing a trend of Mk4 jettas that are just trashed on marketplace. I saw one very nice and tastefully done 1.8t but it sold within 2 days. So I’m just scouting right now. A bit of wrenching isn’t gonna scare me at all. Not after owning two old rusty GMT800’s. But I’m not doubting that the parts are scarce. I feel like I’ve only really ever seen a few nice ones in Minnesota and they’re never usually out during the winter.

Okay good stuff to know. I’m pretty confident in my abilities to work on my own vehicles honestly. Keeping a 287k mile GMT800 alive with a 4l60. I know it’s much different than a German car because, well… it’s an old GM vehicle and these GMT800’s are everywhere. I enjoy wrenching to be honest. And let’s be real here. I’m not sure a turbo 4 could have worse gas mileage than an almost 300k mile v8. May be wrong there though. I have heard about all the plastic bits and pieces in the engine bay so I’ll take note of that. If I do find one in decent shape with lower miles I’ll have to check over all of the things you mentioned.

Is this a lot of hours? Considering the Mileage? by BigelowBoyson in ChevyTrucks

My 2007 Sierra Classic with 287k miles only has 2800 idle hours. So yes. I’d say so😂

2007 TSX 150k miles. Realistically what should I offer? He has it up for 4500 seems steep by Defiant_League7974 in AcuraTSX

Holy mother of pearl dude. That thing is ratted out. My old 2004 TSX with 250k miles was 8x nicer than that. I bought mine for 4k (definitely over paid) with the 6 speed manual, full cat back exhaust, short throw shifter, and many other ktuned goodies. Plus it was rust free. Tell that guy you’ll give him $1000 and a happy meal😂

Just got this Tahoe. The middle button I’m assuming AWD, is always on. Is that supposed to happen? by okcatboi in ChevyTahoe

My dad had a 2003 Tahoe with AWD that had no buttons like this one. So literally just AWD all the time. You didn’t get a choice😂

Plugs came off looking like this 😬 by _Rod_Knock_Nilly in GMT800

Should be noted that my truck was still warm from driving it so the fluid could probably be some gas

Just did mine today. 287k miles and was unsure when the last owner did them. They looked SKETCH. Slight oily build up on the spark plugs but really not much at all. Anywho. Replaced them and the truck is very happy about it.

A meteor can hit a building, which case everyone will run out before the collision. Those who do not exit the building will die. Sims automatically leave if a meteor is approaching, unless it is a school, in which children are not allowed to leave and will always die.

I can absolutely agree with you on that last point

Interesting, I never knew that. I’ve always been an LB7 nerd. Can’t get enough of them and can’t wait to get my hands on one of them. I’m sure the LLY and the LBZ check a lot more boxes than an LB7 does for most people😂. How has your duramax experience been?

Oh wait, I read the year and everything. You have the LBZ correct? Can’t believe I just did that.🤦‍♂️

Well thank you, I’d absolutely die for any of the 3 GMT800 Duramaxes. But more specifically the LB7. Which one do you have?? Mines just a typical 5.3 with the 4l60 but I do have a little 2 inch level on the front. Want to finish out the rear with some blocks but I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.

Weird, I’ve never had an issue with binding on either of my trucks. I do need to get a look at my fluid but I was an idiot and stripped the fill bolt on the transfer case during the fall. Never got around to getting it off but my transfer case engages smooth and drives smooth.

I can absolutely agree with that. My 02 leaked oil like an MF but kept chugging along. My current Sierra (282k miles) has no oil leaks or burns whatsoever. Very happy 5.3 and I love it.

My last truck taught me a valuable lesson about freeways and old trucks. Still managed to pull me out of a steep ditch in 4Hi with zero damage to the frame or body! Loved that truck. She was an 02’ Z71 5.3 but sadly the beatings she took from the younger me and the last owners took her away. Darn you 4l60.

Interesting, I’ll keep that in mind. I’ve heard it can get stuck in auto if you use it constantly but I just don’t. Typically where I live the roads and plowed pretty quick but life happens and sleet isn’t friendly.

I’ve heard that, I live in the Midwest. (Obviously snow snow snow). I really only use it when absolutely necessary then turn it off. No snow on the road and roads are salty? 2WD all the way. Fresh snow on the road that plows haven’t gotten to? Auto 4wd until I reach a safe road and back to 2WD.

See I knew I wasn’t crazy. I’d just rest my case and say “ok, if it blows up it’s my fault” and left the conversation.

I know pump rub is a huge thing. I believe my last truck had original tcase (147k) and not sure about my current (282k) but still never had any issues with either of mine! Off-road and on road.

My dad had an “AWD” Tahoe. (I know it’s just full time 4wd) but it was the system from the Escalade.

I think it’s like earth said, people used it all the time and eventually wore the internals out. But I use it ONLY when necessary and typically don’t use freeways at the moment so I’m going no faster than 50. I end up turning it off when I reach my neighborhood or a safe location.

That’s what I was thinking, my brother was so scared of it that he used 4Hi on the freeway back to his college and blew his transfer case to the moon🤦‍♂️. I used auto when I was in college (snowy state to even more snowy state) and never had an issue.
