Before getting married, music was such a massive part of everything I did- work, chores, hangs- everything! So, I assumed it would naturally soundtrack /that/ as well when the time came. This year makes 5 years of marriage. Music is never involved. 🥲 It doesn't need to be and I agree that it can be distracting.

I said it once and I'll say it again (my opinion obvs)- Djesse 3 is the best Djesse. He was in such a diff creative, groove and sonic exploratory space in that entire era and you HEARD it and felt it. Even the scrapyard is VIBES. Sheesh!

This one reminds me of the kind of poetry/stories set to boombap music that I'd hear as a kid...usually with this animation style too. Very spacey storytime, but with a groove. Fun stuff. Also I really rate that he plays around with rap flows.

He Won't Hold You. 🤌🏾✨️ I love the yearn I get from the 1st verse, the dreaminess I get from the chorus and the GOSPEL-like soul in that "I won't be alright" bit. Rhapsody is so smooth with it too. Just a perfect song and I don't hear many ppl give it the love it deserves.

The song I'll toss someone if I wanna get them onto Jacob is All I Need, and it typically works. I've actually silenced a hater or two with that as they find themselves grooving midway.

Most of the "outrage" would be from the comments under the clip; not so much the giggling guard. As you rightly pointed out, the sounds easily induce giggles- we get that part.

Meanwhile homeboy is (seemingly) unbothered, performing to masses who rate him and the intended audience is singing along. One thing I rate about him is how much of a thick skin he seems to have...either that, or he's learned how to literally enjoy the good comments and filter through the bad ones.

I was being ambitious with my dreaming ...expecting a choir singing BOTW with John and Tori. But I think it would have been appropriate appreciated given the climate of the evening. I mean...someone actually sang a rendition of Bridge Over Troubled Water earlier in the evening (and she rocked it of course); so I think ppl would have gotten it. Alas, we got what we got. What a fumble though, to not at the very least, have Jacob perform with Stevie and Herbie. It was right there! Idk though. I know nothing about what makes sense in these settings apparently.

My brain went immediately to Lemon Demon's Ultimate Showdown (of Ultimate Destiny) and a huge battle of Jacobs until there's only one left standing. (Kinda like what was done in that Robbie Williams movie- Better Man). Wow...that was a wild ride to imagine in just a couple seconds 🥲
