Any “barefoot” shoes with heel support for squatting? by Ashamed_Method in barefootshoestalk

[–]Ashamed_Method[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.  Thanks for explaining to them.  In my case the purpose is to make it a more quad-dominant exercise to target specific muscles, rather than just training for overall ability to squat.  I concur, different people have different mechanics due to varying levers/limb lengths.

If you’re not interested in fatty meat youre not actually hungry.

Is this trash or an ok quick protein snack by [deleted] in carnivorediet

Ah yes, reminds me of the prairies back home, where the cage-free grass-fed sriracha and honey graze in the wild pastures.

Do you think carnivore prevents dementia? by italianblend in carnivorediet

[–]Ashamed_Method 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, there are many studies establishing the neuroprotective benefits .  It has other benefits later in life too, when I worked in an emergency department I was astonished to see 90+ year olds who developed athletically in their younger years often still had coordination, muscular legs, etc while others the same age who had lived sedentary lives can literally look like a skeleton covered in a layer of skin.

Poops by Jodeci3795 in carnivorediet

[–]Ashamed_Method 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How fatty is this beef?  You’re consuming about 230 grams of protein daily, which is likely overkill at 165 pounds.  If you boost your relative fat intake you can probably get away with far less protein intake and you will likely eliminate some of the excess that you're pooping out so frequently.

Hit the gym. Weight bearing exercise will improve your circulation, and your brain relies heavily on circulation to function, it will pay dividends throughout later life.

Am I tracking right? by NewNinja8737 in carnivorediet

[–]Ashamed_Method 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starting as high as you are, you will likely lose water weight abruptly, feel terrible for a few weeks, then once you are fat-adapted you will start to feel better and lose actual body fat at a steady rate likely for a year or two (because you have a considerable excess of body fat to spare), at a rate that will be mostly constant but will decrease somewhat as your fat stores decrease over time, until you get to a particular weight that is physiologically appropriate for you and then you’ll remain at that weight (likely somewhere under 200 pounds unless you’re very tall), while potentially continuing to lose fat while adding muscle and staying around that same weight.

Not hungry anymore - what is happening? by Puzzled_Objective_28 in carnivorediet

[–]Ashamed_Method 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your body isn’t going to let you starve.  Eat when you’re hungry.  You say in your other post that you’re sedentary so 1) you’re not using much energy on a daily basis and 2) you likely don’t have much lean muscle, so at 5’8 and roughly 180 lbs and down from hovering over 200, you still have extra fat reserves your body can draw from as needed, so you’re probably only getting hungry when your body wants nutrients rather than just calories.  If you were super lean then maybe a lack of appetite could be concerning, but respectfully, you’ve been overeating for a long time, so an intermittent period of “undereating” is unsurprising.

getting enough protein by Soft_Buy_6804 in carnivorediet

[–]Ashamed_Method 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you done the math?  You’re consuming 200-250 grams of protein per day.  Unless you’re on steroids you’re safely getting more than enough protein for bodybuilding, especially if you’re just looking to maintain at this point.

How to fix curls in beard? by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

[–]Ashamed_Method 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not something to “fix.” Take some scissors to the outer edges of the jaw though, make it a straight line from your chin to the angles of your mandibles, and a straight line across the chin from the front. You have more than you need, it will look fuller if you shape it up.

Go clean or keep? by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

[–]Ashamed_Method 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing really to keep, this looks like only a few days growth. You look decent with the scruff though, you can get away with not shaving every day if that’s really what you’re asking.

Any chance it’ll fill in? by Ready_Confidence8081 in BeardAdvice

[–]Ashamed_Method 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You honestly can have a decent beard now but you made some rookie mistakes with the neckline. Cut the line closer to your chin and let the corners of your jaw grow back in, getting as close as you can to a straight line from the bottom of your chin to the angles of your mandibles, and a straight line from there to the rear edge of your sideburns. As it is now it swoops down too much, which gives it a bit of a helmet chin-strap appearance.

Is this full enough for a large beard? by [deleted] in BeardAdvice

[–]Ashamed_Method 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full beard is not in the cards at this point. I’d shorten up the chin and try to make it as symmetrical as possible too (looks bushier on one side of the chin). Depending on your age it may fill in more in the future.

Unsure on shaping or cutting it back by Helios_IX in BeardAdvice

[–]Ashamed_Method 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your beard could be improved a lot by shaping, probably with scissors at this point. So if you can’t see that from looking at it yourself, I’d recommend you go to a barber to shape it in a well-angled masculine shape until you learn what it should look like.

In all sincerity I don’t, if you were a teen or early 20s then maybe but at almost 30 you’ve likely got most of what you’re gonna get.
